Whispers of Sweetness
Regulus Anatolii Adravendi |
He was curled in his and Solveiga’s alcove, dozing with his head draped over her back, tail flipped to blanket her rump. She was precisely the thing he needed. A calm place of mental refuge from the turmoil of the last few events the world had brought to their borders. She, and the life she carried, helped him relax just by being there, and helped him have hope that there were still good things to come.
From severe maims and Valor being taken prisoner in that blasted raid, to children – more children – going missing, he was ever glad for the sweet gentleness of his little mate. The thought of children opened his eyes, and thankfully, his mind shifted to the future instead of the problems. He could deal with that headache tomorrow.
Fathomless sapphires shifted to his Lady’s creamy, dappled back and he smiled slightly, before murmuring in her ear, “What do you think they’ll look like? Do you know how many yet?” It seemed like ages since their glorious night together, yet it couldn’t have been that long. The wait was killing him, though, however patient he might be.
