They were finally on the move and he was feeling relieved that they had begun to travel away from the man Kait had left. He also had another mission added to his list, to help his cousin get home which in turn would give him a chance to meet Storm, the first to part ways with the family clan. He lead the group northern to get past harder traveling places such as The Deluge and the Barren Hills. Instead going through the borders of both of the Dunes and turning east to go through part of the range and into the Orchard. Here is where he felt would be a good place to stop and take a much needed rest, to hunt and build strength back up before traveling again. He wanted to make sure none of them were getting too tired. He had decided that they would spend a few days in the orchard before continuing on and to hopefully try and find out what Kait had in mind after getting to Abaven.

His eyes opened as the crisp morning sun hit his thickening pelt, now that Winter was around the corner his pelt was beginning to thicken in preparation of the cold. Lifting his head he glanced back at the mouth of the den where Tempest, Kait, & Baldwin should be. He was too large to fit in the den so he had taken up post just beside it, guarding it throughout the night so all three would get a well deserved rest. Raising to his feet the large male stretched out his form to loosen his muscles and to further wake up his body. He would need to go hunting to get something for everyone to eat.

The female was gaining strength, and so was her new son. Clay had even found a relative of his and he was helping escort her home… Kait didn’t mind, though the girl’s flicker of emotions from depressed to sudden outbursts of anger had… concerned her. They reminded Kait of her own issues… issues she’d been hiding well from Clay and Baldwin so far… but she knew it was only a matter of time before one of her alters surfaced again. Right now it was just Mad and Proxy… but who knew how bad things could get? How bad her mind might end up falling into darkness? It scared her… and looking at Tempest… she worried for the other girl as well.

If anything Tempest had been bonding a little with Baldwin. The two both had tempers.. And liked to rough house. Despite being smaller Baldy was decent at holding his own, much to Kait’s relief. The femme rose as she heard movement outside the den, assuming it was Clay, and glanced towards the sleeping youths before slipping out of the den into the cool autumn air. “C-clay?” Kait asked softly, her green eyes falling upon him as turned her head to the side. He was there of course, and the femme visible relaxed. Ever since he’d come into the picture she’d felt safer… but there were still things bothering her… demons she didn’t want to yet face.

“If you’re going to hunt…” The small femme began. “Do you want me to come with you this time? Four mouths to feed is a bit much for one wolf after all.” She offered a small smile, though truthfully the femme just wanted some time away from her adoptive son and the other youngster to think… and if she could be useful, even somewhat, in a hunt than that was a plus, right?

She had moved so quietly from the den that he didn't notice she was beside him until she spoke. He turned his head for his eyes to look to her face. He couldn't help the smile that blossomed on his face. There was something about the smaller women that made the man feel the need to be by her side. It wasn't that he felt she was weak, he more so loved the companionship she had brought since they had met. Though things had been hectic since they had met and little did they have time to just spend together. Though it seemed this morning they would have some time, which he was now looking forward to. Since he was helping her out Clay really felt the need to get to know her better and spend time with her.

"Yea the help and the company would be great," though his vocals were deep, he spoke quietly so that he wouldn't wake the children inside.

Maybe they would get lucky and the kids would sleep all day, he knew the first part of their trip had been a long one, but it had been necessary to be able to find a safer place to take a rest. He was glad she wanted to go with him hunting by himself was getting somewhat dull in his mind and he was more happy to have the company from her. He stretched once more before looking to her, his tail gently wagging. He made a motion with his head for her to fallow before he put his nose to the ground to look for a trail. Once far enough away he felt more at ease that they could talk without waking the younger travelers of thier small group.

"Did you have any ideas of where to go after we get Tempest home?" he asked as he slowed his pace for her to walk beside him.

Kaitlyn found herself smiling a little at Clay’s words. His words were always deep, but they could be quiet and soft, as though he were a gentle giant. In all honesty it was hard for Kaitlyn to imagine him as anything else. The small woman was incredibly grateful for him… both as a rescuer and a friend. She began to follow him, walking just slightly behind and off to Clay’s right. The femme was surprised at how quiet it was in her head… it felt like the first time in forever those two weren’t talking, whether about her, or about those she was with… or even the King she served for a brief period of time.

“I have no idea…” Kaitlyn confessed softly, taking a couple quicker steps to fall directly beside the male. “Once upon a time my sister was a Queen… she ruled a pack alongside her mate, Rivaxorus… but when they lost their home…” She flicked her ears back, thoughts returning to her. “Things… had started getting out of hand, Clay.” Kait confessed quietly. “I appreciate all you’ve done for me… but I don’t know if any other pack would take in someone like me.” Kait stopped, her ears pinned back.

“I… haven’t told you just how broken I am… I’m… scared… to tell you everything…” Kaitlyn looked up at him again, worry shining in her green eyes. “...I’ve already been given up on before…” Why else would she had followed the Demon King like she had? Was she out of her mind? Kaitlyn closed her eyes.

Maybe she was… but… she knew Clay had the right to know. Before he found things out the hard way. She was kind of beating around the bush at what she wanted; to join a pack with him, with Baldwin… but when one was scared, could you blame them?
