Ooooo her siblings were gonna be so jealous! Stretched out before her was a carcass. And not just any carcass either. A big carcass. Big enough that she could climb inside its rib cage. She thought it was a deer, but she wasn't entirely sure since she'd never seen - or eaten - one before. Zahir had told her about deer and described them to her since she though she could bring one down, and she'd wanted the pups to keep an eye out for them.
Ferrous eyed the carcass. Okay, so the skeleton part of it may have been big, but there actually wasn't a whole lot left of it. Whatever had brought it down had eaten its fill and fed all its friends, but there was still meat on it. Enough, anyway, for a couple of pups and their non-wolfy friends. Now she just needed to figure out a way to get it to them.
With a determined growl Ferrous seized a leg and tried to haul it backwards. She strained and she strained, growling all the while, but it refused to move. Her hind paws scrabbled at the ground and she leaned so far back that every time she yanked on the carcass her butt briefly hit the ground. It wasn't looking very good, but she wasn't about to give up so soon.
Ferrous could see it now, the surprised looks on their faces when she strolled up with this behemoth in tow. It was gonna be great!
OOC: it is a deer carcass xD

Ferrous has a saber-toothed snow leopard companion named Zahir. If she isn't
mentioned IC it's safe to assume she isn't there.

Aurum was hungry. His belly ached like... like, well he wasn't sure what. It wasn't quite like stepping on something sharp and it wasn't quite like when his siblings pounced on him, but it was definitely something! And whatever it was, Aurum did not like it at all. He'd spent all morning looking for anything at all to eat. Luck had led him to three beetles and one scrumptious root he had dug up from the side of a small, mostly dried pond. Needless to say it was not exactly sufficient for a growing young lad.
Cranky from his lack of sustenance, Aurum slunk along his sister's trail, thoroughly defeated. Hopefully she, or more likely Zahir, had found something more filling. It seemed as though hunger followed them everywhere they went, like a cloud always hanging over them! Aurum groused to himself, mumbling under his breath that when he was big he was going to hunt a whole bunch of things every day, so he was never ever hungry! Yeah, that would be perfect! And until they, he supposed he would just have to daydream about it.
Well, that was until he walked up on Ferrous trying to tug at something huge! Aurum gasped and dashed forward. "Woah! Where'd this come from" He spun around, trying to find Argenti and Ferro as well. Deciding that they were not present, and that he was not going to waste precious time finding them, Aurum ran forwards towards the carcas. He found a bit of haunch that still had strings of meat attached. It was tough and chewy, certainly not fresh but Aurum was not used to fresh meat anyways and didn't particularly notice. He fastened his tiny puppy teeth into a particularly appetizing looking bit and tugged and tugged until it tore free. He took a few more of these frantic bites before looking up at Ferrous. "'Ere's Z'eer?" he said, mangling the words through a mouthful of meat. It wasn't often the leopard was far away. "An' Argen'ee 'n Ro?" Aurum didn't want to stop eating, but he also didn't want the rest of his family to miss out.

Still growling, Ferrous tugged and tugged at the leg. She pounced from side to side, jerking and straining backwards in the hopes of moving the carcass even a teeny little bit. It didn't budge. Not even a little.
Aurum appeared and while Ferrous was still trying to drag the skeletal carcass, fell on it ravenously. Well, poop. She dropped the leg and eyed her brother dejectedly. He'd ruined her surprise! Sure, she hadn't made it very far - or anywhere at all, really - but she'd been looking forward to surprising everybody with what she'd found. And now he'd gone and ruined her plan. Well, at least she could still surprise Argenti and-
Aw, no! Ferrous kicked the deer's leg in frustrated disappointment as Argenti's voice reached her ears. The pool of wolves she could surprise with her prize was growing smaller by the minute!
Well...maybe there was a way to save the situation. After all, she had been the one to find the carcass. If not for her, no one would be eating. Yeah, that was a good way to think about it! It may not have been a grand surprise, but she was still responsible for this meal.
She puffed out her chest and proudly answered her siblings' question. "Nope, I found it! I dunno where everyone else is, but maybe we can gnaw off a leg and drag it back? Once we're done?" There really wasn't a lot of meat left, but the legs seemed to have the most on them. Whatever creatures had brought it down (and the scavengers that had undoubtedly followed) had stripped all the good, meaty parts clean. That was okay. What was left was tough and gristly, but it was still meat. And that was better than bugs.
