BEEN CHASIN' DREAMS

Today was the day Divo left behind those pesky sisters, and struck out on her own. Mama had told her to be careful, and call for help if she needed it. Clumsy, oversized paws scrambled up over midsize boulders and thumped down steep inclines. More often than not, she tumbled down like a small avalanche. Divo was clumsy and foolish, and full of youthful bravado. This was why she had come farther than she should have. It was so far from home, but she wanted to see it all!

Tired little legs, gangly and awkward, finally gave out just on the edge of the beach. Still in the foothills of the mountains, she laid down to catch her breath. Sprawled out in the chilly drifts, Divo rested her delicate chin upon the ground and let out a heavy sigh. The water was so pretty! Mama had said there was a thing called the ocean in this direction. That must be it! It was the biggest puddle Divo had ever seen! Much better than the puddles in the den, always making drip drip drip sounds.

Odd eyes would sparkle with wonder as the little pup stared out at the calm sea. Today there wasn't a storm, and Mama had said that was why she was allowed outside. "Если небо станет серым, как хвост Дарьи, поверните назад и вернитесь домой." She had said, with a look on her face that Divo knew was serious. Mama had told her what would happen to little pups who got caught in a northern winter's storm. She didn't want to freeze into stone!

Soft vocals would arise in the form of a song, tune carried gently by her young tombre. "Я возьму звезды с неба, поставлю их в глаза." She murmured, head rocking from side to side. Squirming in the snow for a brief moment, she arranged her head atop her little paws. "Вытащите лепестки из цветов, вытащите мышь с плеч." Colourless tail thumped lazily on the ground. Her legs didn't hurt much anymore. It was time to go to the ocean! Divo wanted to see the big water.

Thumping carelessly down the slope towards the ebony sand, the child suddenly found herself awestruck. She had yet to encounter ground that wasn't slate stone, or pale snow. Black sand? Now, that was weird. "Снег приходит в черное?" She questioned aloud, tiara cocked to one side. One tentative paw would reach out and step upon the dark ground. It wasn't cold, like snow. It didn't bite at her pads, but instead smooshed itself between them. What?

Another paw, another, and the last. Standing fully on the strange, dark sand, the pup found herself confused. Nonetheless, it was time to see the ocean! Bounding across the sand, she tumbled to the ground almost immediately. The ground was weird. Stumbling back to her feet, the child raced off to the water. The gentle lap of the waves against the dark shore was a ruse, the sea was still dangerous. Splashing into the waves, the child was overcome with a real shock. "Холодно! Холодно!"

She knew the whelps had finally left the den but she hadn’t been there to see their first day out, instead she’d been trying to talk some sense into Bee and since that day she’d spent some time trekking back to the island she’d shared with Levi to let him know of the new developments…

She’d been on her way back to the pups’ den when she’d caught the scent of one of her new siblings. She’d spent enough time sitting guard outside their den to learn their scents and the milk sweet scent of a recently weaned pup was hard to miss. Adjusting her course she tracked the pup to a coal black beach and despite herself she felt a pit of dread settle into her stomach.

A small white form frolicked in the shallows, and Mammon fought against the urge to suddenly scoop up the pup and rush her away from the hungering tide. She wasn’t sure how much the pups knew of their older siblings if anything at all and she’d rather not panic the small creature. So instead she adopted an easy, friendly persona. It was easy enough to fool adults with her various masks, she had little doubts she would have any issues with an innocent pup.

The vixen approached with a smile upon her face and her tail wagging high over her rump. ”Hey there!” She called out in the friendliest tone she could muster. She could only hope she’d draw the pup away from the water.

BEEN CHASIN' DREAMS

There was someone else! Whirling around, the young wolf beamed at the dark furred female. Divo knew this lady! She was always ruining the fun, keeping them in the den! Regardless, she was obviously here to play now, right? Her tail was flagging, waving from side to side excitedly. Her smile was dazzling. "Hey there!" She barked, and Divo was excited. A few steps along the beach, and the kid splashed emphatically in the waves with her front paws. She faced the other wolf again, dropping into a play bow. The water soaked the pallid, downy fur of Divo's chest.

"Играть!" Divo cried excitedly, thin tail wagging. She bounced to and fro in the water, swinging her head around to gaze out at the endless sea. Divo wanted to see how far it went. Even up in the mountains, Divo couldn't see where it stopped. A big puddle!
"Играйте в океан!" Divo barked again, whipping around again to face the bigger lady. Entire body wriggling with glee, the child splashed pale forepaws against the surf. The more noise, obviously the quicker the lady would join her. Right?

ooc. you're welcome to pp Marvel in ur next post if Mammon is real nervous about Divo in the water xD

((Mammon will by next post if Marvel is still pushing their luck XD))

Mammon’s eyes widened as she watched the child crouch into the water. Still she kept her mask in place as she picked up her pace. The child didn’t seem to take her bait and instead cried in out in, well it wasn’t the common tongue that’s for sure.  Damn that white bitch, she just had to raise them in a different language didn’t she! She kept her inner monologue from her face though. Still she knew they had had contact with their father, maybe the could understand her?

”Why don’t we play in the sand?” She suggested, indicating the safe, dry land around them. She still wasn’t too fond of the idea of scaring the kid by swooping in to pick her up but as the pup splashed in the shallows again there was a noticeable pick up in the speed of her approach.

JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS

The dark furred lady didn't seem to want to play in the ocean. Well that wasn't fun! Rising to her feet, the pale child frowned. What was wrong with the ocean? Oh, maybe the big lady didn't like the cold. No, that couldn't be it. She was always outside in the snow, making sure Divo and Darya stayed inside. She didn't have to yell at Dom very much, Dom liked inside. The lady was coming a lot closer, a little faster now. The child cocked her head to one side, still unsure as to why the lady didn't want to play in the water.

The sand? Oh, the weird snow. Taking a few steps towards the beach, the pup frowned at the weird snow. It took a moment to make her mouth copy the word. "Saaand." She parroted awkwardly, stamping her paw in the wet, sopping turf as the wave pulled away for a moment. The resulting splash prompted a peal of high laughter. "Saand!" She cried, rearing up to pound the ground again with her forepaws. The tide rolled back in, and the splash was even bigger! "Sand!" She barked, looking up to where the black furred lady was. This was exciting! There was a name for the weird snow! Sand! It was cold, but not cold like snow.
