The morning sun was welcomed after a rather cold night. Arke hadn't yet filled his den with anything to keep him warm, but maybe he'd figure that out later. Right now, he had a one track mind and that was to gather herbs this season in preparation for Auster's strange backwards seasonal weather. When summer comes, Boreas would get hot, and this continent would get cold. Or so he thought. At least, that's how it usually was. Even now it got cold at night, and he wanted to be prepared in case anyone got sick during the colder seasons.

He did notice new scents among the lands. New members perhaps? Had he been too buried in the cellars of the castle that he hadn't noticed sooner? He had gone all over collecting jars and other things to help him store herbs and other things, and the castle was full of useful tools and stuff! He spent a lot of his time in there, so much so that he would often forget to eat until his stomach's painful reminders would send him up into the light of day in search of food. Luckily, his brother Gryphon did a good job of keeping the stocks full. He wanted to repay his brother...maybe give him something to show that he appreciated him. Even if his older brother didn't feel much for him, Arke still wanted to do something.

He moved easily through the plains, heading straight towards the general area where he knew the herb he sought out would grow. Meadowsweet was a common herb in these fields, but the best patches (he thought) were on the far Eastern edge of the land just outside the borders, and that's where he was heading. It didn't take him too long to get there, the sun was barely rising into the sky as it cast cold shadows over the lands. The last remnants of the stars that plagued the sky were fading out, his breath coming out in misty bursts. This was perhaps his favorite time of day. The world was slowly waking up, though it was at this hour that it was quiet and serene and peaceful.

At last, he reached the edge of the border. He took a moment to gaze at the sun rising above the horizon, bits of mist and dew clinging to the earth after the cold from the previous night. Yep...he loved peaceful mornings. After soaking in his morning view, he set his mind back to looking for what he had come over here for.
