You had me worried sick!

It wasn't quite the lengthy trip she had expected them to take, but it had been successful and interesting all the same. Daelos was just a sponge for knowledge that even Zuriel couldn't quite keep up with. It made her so happy to see her daughter take such an interest in a topic that she herself had dedicated most of her life to. As they got closer to the pack's borders she did feel happy to be back - happier than she had really expected to be. It wasn't that she didn't like living in the pack. In fact, she truly would rather be here than out on her own after the experience with Elias, but even when she was living in Celestial there had always been something about being in one place for so long that didn't sit easily with her. The idea of really attempting to settle down and focus more on family had been playing in her mind for some time now so maybe that had something to do with it. She glanced toward Daelos and smirked at the sight of her daughter's mouth full of herbs. They had taken turns carrying them home, but seeing her carry them was quite comical. "Daelos, why don't you go ahead and take those back to the den and start sorting them out? I'll go see about finding Ruaidhri to let him know we're back." Her daughter nodded and headed off in her own direction once they crossed the border. Zuriel watched her go for a moment and then headed off herself, sniffing the breeze for any sign of her nephew's scent. The scent she found instead stopped her in her tracks while she tried to decide if it was real or just a fluke. "Miach? Miach?!" she called as she hurried on, following his scent and running a bit faster the closer she got to him. The relief and joy she felt when his gray and reddish brown figure came into view was so overwhelming she simply didn't know what to say. She rushed over to him with her tail wagging a mile a minute and a huge grin on her face. For a moment all she could do was press her face into his shoulder and give a mix of a laugh and sob. She realized as she took a step back to look him over with a healer's eye that he was now several inches taller than her. "You've gotten so big!" she exclaimed with a pang of sadness. Of course she was just happy to have him home, but there was so much of his childhood she missed. "Where have you been?! I looked everywhere for you!" |
