Moving through the thick grasses, she kept an eye out for any of the notorious serpents that plagued the land as she wandered close to the border. Sometimes she took to doing short patrols to make herself useful, checking to ensure there was no suspicious activity and even checking a was around the border in the lands outside Abaven in case anyone might have been circling it from a distance. She knew better now than to think that trespassers always just came right up to the border and were obvious. No, the first wolves to take her home from her started by checking things out from a distance from what she understood, so she would ensure that as long as potential threats were still living out there that she did not become to comfortable.
Once satisfied with her work checking the borders all around the plains she would take a break, settling down near the border and sighing softly as she sat down, joints protesting but then relaxing as they welcomed the break from standing all the time. Yes, no doubts about it - she was getting old.
