Promised Ones

The day had come. The day the little bastards would be coming out into the world. She had had enough of being pregnant, and she swore she'd never do it again if she could help it. Enigma was in the area, off gathering some herbs she might need as well as food for when she got hungry. For now, she lied down in an old worn down stall. She hadn't thought about looking for the "perfect" place to give birth, wherever she was when the pups were ready was where they'd be born, and this was the land they chose.

Settled down, she soldiered through the contractions, letting her body do it's work to bring this bastard pups into the world. One by one, they began to come. And after several minutes, all three would be at her side snuggling into her warmth. As much as she just wanted to up and leave them then and there, part of her kept her with them. Sighing, she laid her head down and waited for he brother to return.
