The structure was large and vary tall. Old wooden walls now having a few critters holes here and there. It was remnants of humans long long ago, a mere myth in his mind. He remembered his great grandmothers talking about them, telling tales of the times their kind struggled to survive. He couldn't believe it, the world was too full of their kind now. His blue eyes carefully looked over the front of the large barn inspecting the details of the walls and the door, the old windows. It was still standing strong despite the years passing.
Moving forward he pushed the door open a little more, he had to use a little extra force to get it open. Then squeezed himself inside to look around. It looked a lot bigger in the inside and it looked like it had several floors. The smell of moldy old hay was prominent and made his nose wrinkle in displeasure. He wondered if he could truly find anything worth value in here, he needed to look around. He started at the wall side closest to his left and began to search for anything useful.

His mother had kept him and his siblings under the tractor during their first few weeks, but the shade of the range was much too restricting and the bright sun often disturbed the child's much-needed sleep before he was ready to wake up. Without a proper den, it didn't take long for the little shadow to find his own way to somewhere dark and cozy.
The barn smelled awful, it wasn't a secret but after his first few nights taking up residence in it, the small titan had become used to the scent and embraced it as one that could mask his own.
He was usually alone for the most part these days, except for when his siblings came to explore the place or harass him if they wanted to. When the barn door creaked loudly and woke him up out of a dead slumber, he fully expected to open his eyes and find one of them there at the door.
His eyes fixated on the quite obviously unknown male for some time before he ever made a sound, remaining quiet and observant from the coverage of the darkness. He had curled up on the first floor, in the close quarters of what had been once a horse's stall. Something about the closer four walls around him made him feel safe. The door had long been fallen off of its hinges, the wooden planks that once made it up half crumbled and broken away from one another. He looked through the decaying bottom half, where a massive hole the size of him had been left.
He had never met anyone other than his uncle, mother and his three siblings before. He never knew fear, only a longing for the comfort of his mother that she so quite adamantly denied him, the resentment of his sister towards their play, and then the playfulness of his own brother. He was curious how this brute would treat him. Would he have food, like his uncle often did?
A small yawn escaped the little shadow's youthful muzzle, his purple and black tongue curling as he sucked in the air and stretched out his front two limbs. His paws would start to go through the motions of a walk before he was even ready, inching forward like a kneading cat until they had no more room to do so. He lifted his round belly finally and shook the sleepiness from his head, and the hay from his growing pelt.
He rushed out of the wooden door in excitement, brushing against the decaying door and making a few more inches of wood crumble away from where he hit it. He headed straight for Branch with a grin on his face, showing off his pearly whites to contrast his wholly black being.

He hadn't been careful enough, completely missing the scent of the youngster among the other smells within the old barn. There was a lot of old things hanging on the walls, had fallen off the walls, and in some places just piled. This was going to take him a while to sort through and look for useful items for the near future. He had to look at what was desired by other wolves. Things that could be used to trade for things his upcoming pack would need. He had really wished during these times his father would be here, he seemed to be more knowledgeable about trading then Branch would ever be. He would have to learn on his own regardless if he wanted to or not.
Soon the drumming of paws drew his attention, light blue eyes looking in the direction of the young boy. He was running out of one of the out broken stalls and thundering in his direction. His eyes widened for a moment unsure if the youth would try to tackle him or what his plans were. Curiously the boy asked who he was before beginning to accept his paws. Branch didn't mind, he let the young boy sniff. His main concern was were the mother was and if she would be angry that he was so close to their sleeping area.
He looked down at the dark coated boy as he sniffed him, his skin and muscle twitching as the puffs of air from his nostrils tickled a bit. Branch's tail wagged lightly and he turned his attention to him, not wanting to ignore him.

He couldn't smell any food on the man and that was an immediate disappointment. The titan of a pup flopped his weight back on his bum and looked up to Branch with glistening eyes of ink. His fur was wild, unkempt and still slightly pressed from his sleep with moldy hay sticking out from every stray tuft. Also, he was kind of stinky.
The wild boy watched Branch with curious eyes, his nose lifting to sniff at his muzzle as his last hope for maybe there being any signs of food on him. Nope. Oh well. Wyrm couldn't expect people to deliver meals for him forever- but honestly, the idea of where those meals even came from never occurred to him. He did know, however, he would have to find out soon. His belly released a growl as if audibly agreeing.
"Yeah, it's okay." He was already bored with the apology, so his words were rushed and dismissive. "What are you doing here, Branchwreckage? And why is your name so loonnngg?" A little jealousy shone through here, though he didn't want to admit it. Wyrm had yet to be named, and had absolutely no idea about last names- so Branch's whole name was said as one fast conjoined word.
