Dark paws would carry him over the terrain that was the hot springs, he'd just finished his hunting rounds and was feeling the draining of energy. The springs were such a god send, he'd never been so thankful for warm water but today the gentle springs would soothe his muscles. He would let his features lower to test the waters of each one, searching for that perfect temperature he would go around the fountain until selecting the perfect one. Slowly he would ease himself in, thinking of how much better it would be if Novella was there to enjoy it with him. He was sure she was at a lesson with her mother. Still, he felt incomplete with out her by his side. He couldn't wait until his punishment was completely over.

The firstborn of Song and Cherokee Destruction was out patrolling, securing the borders with his own line of scent around the others. Being the Editor meant he had more responsibilities, but he didn't consider that a problem. The idea of being one of the higher ranks made him feel important, and having his leaders as his grandparents made that even better. He honestly didn't know what he would do without his family.
During his patrols, he came across the Hot Springs. The spring air was warm enough to not tempt others to the pools, but it seemed that someone was eager to relax anyway. Silver and gold eyes fell upon an unfamiliar form, while curiosity began to peek its young head through his gaze. His body changed direction and he headed over towards the stranger at a slow pace. Ears remained pricked and black tail curled over his back as he approached. "Hello," he openly greeted. "I haven't seen you here before..."

It seemed even with out Novella the boy would find company in her family, though he would have no idea of such. It seemed safe to assume a wolf in the confines of Ludicael that most every wolf had the name 'Destruction.' Frith didn't mind, it would be really wonderful to join with a family that was so big. It was such a change compared to living with only his mother for the first three years of his life. The dark boy would move towards Frith, fire and ice gaze would fall on his precious metal eyes. He'd smile in a friendly manner, nodding in greeting. "Greetings, He would start, trying to make himself less threatening. He didn't know who this was or what rank he held but he hoped to not get off on the same foot as Novel and Dutiron. "My name is Frith, I've only been here a couple of weeks. I'm ah.. friends with Novella." It was an impressive save, they still hadn't told anyone of the courtship going on.

The male responded with his own friendly greeting and explained that he had just joined. Dhiren immediately thought of Guinevere, but he couldn't voice his thoughts about her to this stranger. He then voiced his relationship with Novella and his eyebrows gently rose. "Ahh, I didn't know you were close with my aunt," he voiced, tones showing a hint of surprise. "I'm glad to see that she has met someone outside of our family tree." He gave a soft smile and then introduced himself. "I am Dhiren Destruction, son of Song and Editor of Ludicael...It's nice to meet you, Frith."

Dhiren would not move from his perch above the pool, and Frith wondered if the boy even wanted to get in the water. He would have to doubt, the only reason he'd even come near was because the chocolate man was unfamiliar. He would allow him first the relation he had to Novella, a nephew, who his father was he guessed was unimportant, but he remembered Song was the woman who had just recently lost her youngest son. This also meant he was talking to the Beta. "it's been pleasant meeting you, Dhiren." And much more pleasant than meeting the authors. "What's it like, having been living in Ludicael your whole life?"

Dhiren noticed how the male took in the details he had given, even without wording them. The boy was impressed that the man was able to take in the smaller things, making him have another plus on the Editor's invisible list of qualities. Frith then asked him about what living in Ludicael was like and the boy decided to recline to his haunches.
"Living here since birth has been like being wrapped with a security blanket. I have never had to want for anything and my parents made sure my sisters and I didn't have any negativity in our little lives." A light smile appeared on the black boy's face and he lightly shrugged his shoulders. "I haven't wanted to leave Ludicael, except for when I had to get away because of my thoughts...After being surrounded by family for so long, sometimes I need a break."
The male then looked at the water that merrily bubbled around the stranger. The pool was big enough for three grown men to sit in, giving them enough room to stretch out and relax. "Would you...would you mind if I joined you? I know we just met and all, but honestly...me being taller than you makes me feel awkward." He gave an apologetic smile, hoping that Frith understood.

Frith was lacking incredibly in the father department, the only figure he had was his mother. She passed on her legacy completely to him, so he would not feel lacking in the least. In his world, the father figure was unimportant. He would watch as Dhiren would relax, haunches falling to the ground. He would explain simply how his life in the pack had been, Frith would take the information, but he couldn't relate. He had spent almost every moment of the last three years with the woman who gave him birth and he didn't
regret it at all. Was that what it was like having this big family? He couldn't somment, but Dhiren would continue, voiceing an easy question. "Yes, please come in! You looked rather uncomfortable up there."

The question was answered with an invitation and Dhiren graciously accepted. His mix-matched front paws stepped forward and gingerly touched the surface of the water. The temperature was a bit warm, but not too much for the young boy to handle. Slowly, he submerged his paws deeper into the water until his whole body was consumed. Relief for his muscles swept over him and he sighed happily as he dunked his head beneath the water.
As soon as he broke the surface to breathe, he opened his eyes and looked over at Frith. After a few blinks and an awkward grin, Dhiren made himself comfortable, leaving his head bobbing above the water. "So, Frith...what brought you to Ludicael besides my aunt's charm and sweet nature? Do you come from a large family as well?"

Fire and ice gaze would watch as Dhiren slipped into the warm water, he would duck under and come back up to recover slowly. Frith would smile, he wasn't about to dip his head under the warm water. However the beta would get comfortable, easily continuing the conversation and subtly asking about his family. He'd lost Kynareth not more than a moon ago. It still hurt, but he was slowly getting back to real life. "No, the exact opposite really. It was just my mom and me." He wouldn't sound sad about it, he didn't regret any of the time spent with the aged woman.

Frith's story was indeed different from Dhiren's. Growing up, Dhiren had been surrounded by sisters, aunts, and uncles. All of his maternal family members had been sweet and caring, even if they didn't spend quality time with him like he had expected. Now that he was older, he knew he had to make the effort more often than before. It would not be a problem, except he didn't know when he would be able to make the time.
His ears remained perked as he nodded to Frith and voiced his opinion. "That doesn't sound bad. You were able to spend time with her and no one else got to learn from her nurturing...I had to share my mom with my sisters, and even after we had grown, I had to think about my future siblings taking her attention..." A soft sign of regret crept into his words. "I was jealous and depressed before my mother's second litter was born, so it hit home faster than I anticipated."

He knew nothing of Dhiren's life growing up with so many siblings and family members. He was the only one in his litter and who knew who his father was. Dhiren was polite though, he'd easily listen to the words given to him offering a reply after. From the way that Dhiren spoke Frith was unsure. He wondered how different life would be if he had that many siblings, would he have taken it as Dhiren had, and just felt jealousy for time with a parent? He didn't know, but he truly hoped that was not how everyone experienced childhood. "I think I would have given anything to have at least one sibling." He'd smile, "How are you doing with them now though?"
