Toeing the line

The girl sat at the edge of the territory, eyeing the invisible border cautiously and keeping an eye out in case any strangers showed up. She didn't intend to cross, but she was actively considering why she didn't want to cross. Her parents would get mad, her aunt would get mad, she'd be in trouble... Yet the child was fairly certain some of her pack-mates would have bounded past without worry. Was she just a scaredy-cat? Her brothers might have said so, though, maybe that was more her projecting than an accurate assessment.

Her dark pelt didn't blend terribly well with the pale snowy landscape and bits of golden grass that poked through in places. Oh well. For a moment the girl wondered if the fiery older girl named Caelestis might be the sort to prance the borders as a small child. Rhea was pretty sure that was an accurate assessment. Herself though? Far too patient and obedient to push the boundaries and risk getting in trouble. Right? Right. So she'd keep walking. In a minute, after she got just another step closer to see if she could, uh, see more of the outside. Mhm.
