The turn of the season had brought quite a few changes Jupiter's way. His loneliness had turned into resentment for all of the adults who had failed him. Resentment for the Dauntless wolves who scattered like roaches after the boy alpha left. Resentment for his mother who abandoned him without so much as a good-bye. Resentment for his father who didn't insist he stay with him. Sure, all that resentment was probably silly. He didn't know the Dauntless wolves and they didn't owe him anything. He didn't know the circumstances of his mother's disappearance (was she even alive?) and he'd fought his father's attempts to travel with him until the older male had given up. So yes, maybe his resentment was silly, but Jupiter was hurt and angry and it helped to blame those feelings on others.

He wasn't the same cheery child who'd run wild through the north just a few months ago. No, now he was a man. Nothing and no one could hurt him now. He was untouchable.

In a strange twist of fate Jupiter had recently met his paternal grandfather. The greying giant was a kindred spirit and while he was loath to admit it, Jupiter admired Valentine. They'd spent a great deal of time together in the last several weeks. Valentine, as cantankerous and snarky as he could be, was a grounding presence.

Currently Jupiter was taking a break from his grandfather and his stories by wandering around the plateau. He could only hear so much about his grandmother Cascade. The old lady sounded like she'd been a badass back in the day, but there was only so much Jupiter could take. He knew things he wished he didn't know about wolves who were far too old to be doing them.

The Wreckage woman had only recently arrived in the South, and she'd taken it upon herself to start exploring the territories surrounding Kesali. She was far from home, but it would be worthwhile for her to know the lands far and wide. She wanted to know where the herds roamed, to see if they appeared to be getting restless - she needed to know if they'd be moving on to other lands for the winter ahead. Not only that, but time was of the essence if she were to harvest the last herbs of the season. Thus, she found herself upon the plateau, her gaze picking up on some of the foreign objects strewn around. They were interesting, but she remained cautious and kept her distance, eyeing the symmetrical, metal things. She had no name for any of the things she saw, as she'd never seen nor heard of anything like these.

Amongst her explorations, something of even greater interest caught her eye in the distance. Was that a wolf, or was it a spirit lingering on this torn up plateau? Honeyberry picked up her pace, her curiosity getting the best of her. As she approached the large male, she still wasn't quite sure if he was real or not. She'd never seen a wolf with a coat like his - it was glorious in comparison to her own bland coat of grays. The only thing that stood out on her frame were the stripes along her cheeks and paws, but even those were unremarkable in comparison to the star-painted wolf before her. Realizing that she'd probably had her eyes on him a little too long without saying anything, she cleared her throat, feeling her cheeks blush slightly.

"Hello there," she greeted him, noticing that his scent was just as natural as any wolf she'd met. Perhaps he was not a spirit after all, but a wolf with the most fascinating coat patterns she had ever seen. "I just have to comment on your coat," she said, a smile forming on her lips, hoping he wouldn't be offended, "It's just... breathtaking! From a distance I thought perhaps you were a spirit!" She hoped her friendly nature didn't take him off-guard; she hadn't failed to notice the somewhat brooding expression on his face. Expressions like that never deterred her, of course, for she always wanted to try to cheer others up if they looked a little down.

The presence of a woman, even one who probably considered herself too mature for his charms, was enough to lift the boy's mood. Her gaze too was heartening and caused the vain creature to arch his neck and preen.

Jupiter fixed her with his most charming look and then grinned as she mentioned his coat. Ah, yes. Today his coat was an asset. If there was one thing Jupiter wanted more than anything else it was attention from the opposite sex. He wouldn't know what to do with it if he got it, but he wanted it nonetheless. "Hello," he purred back.

"Not a spirit," he assured her before chuckling, "But I get that a lot."

He stole a shtick he'd seen someone else use by gazing at her for just a beat too long and then shaking his head once sharply as if he'd forgotten something before saying, "Ah, where are my manners! I'm Jupiter." Hopefully, if he'd done that correctly, she'd give him her name.
