It was time to start taking the pups out for some one on one bonding time. He had decided that it may be easier to start with the girls first, knowing he would need more patience with his boys. He had woken Fawn up early, after he had gotten back from his early morning patrol. Quietly he led her out of the den and out from under their willow He thought they could start with a walk until she was more awake before getting into anything.
As they moved he glanced down to his daughter and smiled at her. He was so beyond proud of all of them and loved how each of them had their own unique markings.
"What do you feel like getting into today Fawn," he asked after a few moments.
There was no telling what her little mind wanted to explore or to learn. There was so much and right now he would rather show and teach her what she found interesting. To bond with her like a father and daughter should.
She'd been sleeping peacefully, dreaming about playing with her siblings and chasing butterflies. Her hind foot twitched as she dreamt, and in her dreams, she was close to catching a butterfly! Her hind end wiggled as she crawled closer to it, and when she was within striking distance, she leaped! She wouldn't know if she caught it, however, because at that moment she felt something nudging her and then her eyes flew open. She spotted her dad standing there, and almost immediately she flipped over onto her feet and excitedly followed him out of the den. She was careful not to step on her other siblings, though they probably wouldn't have noticed if she did anyway since she was so much smaller than all of them.
Once outside, Fawn stretched out and yawned. Her tail curled over her back and each of her limbs stretched as far as they could go before she finally shook herself even more awake. She followed her dad until they were past the safety of the willow, and her eyes grew wide at what she saw. The world was so big! There were so many trees like the one they lived under, and there was just. So. Much! Her tail began to wag, oversized ears drawing in her father's words. Wow! What did she want to do!? What could she do!? "Uuummmm.........can we go an' see everything? I wanna esplore! The world is so big da!" She bounded towards him and around his legs. He was so much bigger than her, he was the biggest wolf she ever saw! There was so much she wanted to do, she didn't even know where to start!
He could see how large her eyes got as she began to take in the world outside of their willow. He smiled watching her body language as she took things in, then answering his question. It was silly of him to ask really since they didn't know much about what was outside of their Willow, but he felt giving them opportunity to choose would help. He chuckled as she bounced around his legs, his eyes bright and his chuckle deep. Bending his head down to her he gently nudged her.
"All right then I'll let you lead the way," he offered.
He waited until she took off and he fallowed behind, his long strides would help him keep up with her energetic self. To explore and to teach was his mission today. Anything that caught her eye he hoped he would be able to teach her what it was and what purpose it may have.
