Winter Is Coming

With a spring in her step Ferrous explored the new territory. She was rather fond of her little nest in the ship, but it didn't hurt to check the forest out and see if there were any good nooks or crannies that might make better digs. Even if she chose not to move dens, perhaps she'd find a good place to store a cache or something. She had no idea what kind of winter they were in for, but this would be her first one in the north so regardless of its severity it would be a new experience for her. Ferrous paused to poke her head into the hollow of a tree. She could tell immediately it was a little too small for her to be comfortable in, but perhaps she could still use it to store stuff. She backed out of the hollow and continued on her way. Coming from the stark emptiness that was the grounded ship, this place seemed like a paradise. The trees were alive with small tittering creatures and the ground around her was dotted with the tracks of many a small mammal. While the grasses and shrubbery that grew here were as harsh and imbued with northern ruggedness, they grew in numbers that rivaled those of southern vegetation. No doubt the various prey animals that called the north home flocked here in the softer seasons. The place was, in other words, a perfect hunting ground. Enrico had made a wise choice. Ferrous spied a hole beneath a pile of rocks and made a beeline for it. The entrance was wide enough for her to fit inside and, throwing caution to the wind, she poked her head in and took a look around. |
Ferrous has a saber-toothed snow leopard companion named Zahir. If she isn't
mentioned IC it's safe to assume she isn't there.
