The raging sun of the mid afternoon beamed downward at the beast. It was not the heat he would succumb to but the blazing burn that was begin to form upon his upper back and rear. It was time for the beast to find shade until the sun fell and the moon began her reign. Thus, the albino male slithered his way into the beautiful forest before him. A slight phosphorus scent made its way into his nose as he neared the hot springs. The earth was dampened which gave his delicate pink pads a much needed break from harder ground. The thick canopy above provided plenty of shade for Hannibal to hide beneath for the time being. The beast slinked his way deeper into the forest until he found the springs themselves. Pools of hot, bubbling, water came into his eager gaze. A gentle smile slipped across his two-toned lips as he began to move between the pools. Pink and blue eyes eyed each pool of water, it seemed they all varied in depth and heat. Some seemed to bubble more then others which showed there was more gas being emitted. Hannibal finally settled near a more shallow and less abrasive pool near the outskirts of the area. He decided to plop down at the edge of the water with his belly to the ground. The slender head of the partially-albino babe flicked around in curiosity. The smells of gas and nature itself was an easy distraction to any newcomers or prey. Therefore the male kept his wits about him while still attempting to relax before another long journey in the evening. speech action |
She had begun to venture a bit away from the only water source she knew existed in this land - hell, she couldn't stay there forever. Well, she could, but did she want to? Not really. Especially with that pack nearby, it would only be a matter of time before one of their wolves came by and kicked her in the ass to get a move on. Perhaps she was being a bit dramatic; they seemed like a jolly bunch judging from their leader. That didn't do much for her nerves, though. She enjoyed the solitude even if it did get lonesome at times. Everest couldn't see herself, she thought as she traveled through the woodwork of trees and followed a specific scent of steam and phosphorus, ever following someone again. It just didn't sit well with her - being commanded to do things against her better nature. At the thought, her skin bubbled in agitation beneath her fur, a huff falling from her, ears flattening against her skull. Her yellow eyes scanned the soil with each step she took, and to her surprise, as she continued her trek, it became softer. The hard terrain softened and as her eyes narrowed: it was just like what the land did back at that other lake. Had she gone in a damn circle? An almost-groan nearly escaped her cavernous mouth before being abruptly shut down when she exited the confines of the trees. Water - but not the water. The groan turned into a sigh, her fur flattening from previous thoughts as curiosity forged in the crevices of her mind. Ears pivoting forward, Everest was baffled at the fact that there was heat emanating from the water; steam too. This land was so fucking weird. Slowly, she trotted towards the bank and let the water brush against her front paws. Warm. Blinking in surprise, she shifted her weight and began to walk deeper. She hadn't noticed the stranger.
