It's Not Christmas Without Krampus
Rain thought he had settled in nicely to the empire; true he was considered a mortal and therefore inferior but he found that the classification was less suffocating than being the unwanted son of Tyranis Praetor. Presently he and Fauldr journeyed through the forest of oaks in search of a particular plant he could use to make a very debilitating poison from. The forest with its oversized trees that had been the victims of lightning strikes also gave Rain access to something particularly rare to wolf kind and every bit useful; Charcoal which could be used to slow ingested poisons.
Rain and his golden companion traveled unafraid of any dangers that might befall them, Rain was no use as a fighter, but he had proven himself to be a valuable member of the empire and would be avenged if he were injured… Or so he hoped. Rain had been so distracted by hi wandering thoughts that he didn’t notice the baboon had stopped walking until he crashed into his back. “Faldur!” He exclaimed accusingly, his eyes narrowed with annoyance. The monkey however simply lifted its paw and pointed to a single black tree standing alone in a clearing. The entirety of the tree seemed to be a single black branch that twisted upwards toward the sky like a giant bullwhip. Rain was momentarily taken aback by the foreboding tree, raising his paw warily in case he needed to bolt away. Closer to the two was a strange array of stones that Rain quickly realized covered the entirety of the clearing. Each of them had been placed in circular rows that formed several small spirals with the ominous tree in the center. What was this place?
