The previous night had brought Fyri their first deep snowfall of winter. It had been common in the northern parts of their homeland for such things to happen, but only rarely had Sephira experienced them herself. As such, she had spent the better part of the morning playing in the snow like a pup. She had pounced into drifts and dug out snow dens, made wolf shaped imprints on the ground and knocked her weight into young trees to see if she could get clumps to fall. It was exhausting, useless work, but at least she was having a good time.

When in such moods, she usually sought out her brother. Now that Souzan had joined them, she had options. Either would do, so with that in mind she turned away from her play in search of someone to drag in with her. The forest around her was a winter wonderland, sparkling and glittering beneath the pale winter sun. Aside from bird song the world seemed quiet, as if deafened by the drifts around her. She made her way somewhat aimlessly towards the heart of the forest, hopeful that she would at least turn up someone willing to entertain her.

There was a certain scent that preceded the falling of snow. Ig had noticed it before he fell asleep, although he wasn't familiar with winter enough to realize what it meant. Snow was something he'd barely ever seen before, maybe once as a child, and once or twice after. When he woke stiff and cold and exited his den to find a shimmering white landscape full of ice and a thick white blanket of snow, well, he was admittedly just as excited as anyone. Leaping from the den entrance, he kicked up a puff of powder and raced out into the woods, tracing an aimless path through the giant trees until he thought he saw a colorful form ahead of him.

Stopping and ducking behind one fallen redwood, he grinned, creeping around the side low before peering out again to watch his sister pad along. He'd wait til he thought she was pretty close before leaping over the log and flying at her, arms outstretched, hoping to knock Sephira over.
