The pale boy pushed through fresh soil and roots, taking in the smells of new life and appreciating the new warmth that came with the melting of snow. Emerald eyes would scan the new growth. It seemed that all manner if herbs were gracing the damp ground on this morning. What a lovely sight.

Chocolate dipped tail would stream out behind him as he took the shoreline at a trot. He wasn't searching for anything in particular. Didn't need food or water or any type of relief. He just enjoyed strolling through the land that he had become so familiar with in the past few days. The place had become his home.?

On this early morning, as the birds sang lullabies above his head Umbra was in a particularly good mood. Life was treating him rather well. Things could really look up from here. And with that thought in mind, Umbra paused at the riverside and dipped a paw into its cold depths, squinting his eyes as he leaned down to take a sip. Salmon tongue would snake out if his mouth and curl to lap water into his mouth, it's temperature causing his toes to curl.

Mirabelle tread cautiously throughout the territory. The Monument Rapids was a territory she was unfamiliar with, despite it still being part of Abaven's lands. She much preferred the Serpent Plains, with all its glorious greenery and dangers. The rapid startled her at first, honestly - she wasn't expecting the force in which the water crashed through the rocks. She couldn't imagine how anyone would ever want to risk a crossing of the river at that point too. Much safer to do it at a wider, calmer point. You won't slip and bash your body with the rocks littered about. You'd live. Giving a small snort, she shook her body free of the spray that had slowly accumulated on her pelt. Her nostril's flared and her tongue lolled out of her mouth. It wasn't particularly hot, but it was getting warmer and her winter fur had not yet shed.

With a start, she noticed a male's scent. It was coated in the signature scent of Abaven... which meant it was one of the new members. She herself was somewhat new, but not as new as some. She trotted forward, spotting the white and brown marked male drinking some water from the rapids. She froze, not wanting to startle him; to do so could kill him if he slipped in. So she lingered, waiting for the wolf to notice her first - it was much less likely to startle him that way.

Emerald eyes would open wide as he heard movement behind him, and the boy would rise slowly to see who had approached. He knew the danger of the rapids and would have rather been attacked from behind than allow himself to fall in and fight the waters to his death. Two - toned face would turn to the woman.

She was lovely, crimson hues creating a pleasant contrast to the alabaster of her chest and other portions of her body. The woman was also blessed with stunning amarillo opticals. She carried his pack scent, so the look on his features was not one of hostility as he gazed upon her face.

"Hello there." He spoke to her with confidence. A smile would not cross his features, yet there was a friendly tone to his voice. Salmon tongue would dart from his mouth to wipe the water droplets from his chin. What was she doing here, beside the rapids?

She, unlike him, gave him a wolf-y grin, teeth bared and everything. Her tail wagged briefly, though it was kept level with her spine just as her ears were kept forward and pricked. "Hello," she greeted in turn, tipping her head to the side. "I'm Mirabelle Talos. Commonly knows as Mira, and I'm one of the two Bjundis of the pack. Who might you be? You've been here for at least a day... so I know you aren't training to be a guard, otherwise I would have seen you." Her tail continued its slow wagging as she waited for a response.
