The evening was warm and humid by the time she made it to the well known lake. Fireflies danced over the water, the heat of summer drawing them out now more than ever. Her old eyes gazed upon the rippling water as the sound of crickets and frogs hung in the air. Dragon had returned from his wandering. She had spent some time with Greed and his potential mate. The blind girl was sweet, always had been. She adored her very much and was starting to see her like a daughter. Okami drifted in and out of her life as she tried to figure hers out. Breathing a sigh into the warm night air, she wandered around the perimeter of the lake, occasionally dipping her paws into the cooler water. She had a long life. While some of it she regretted, there were many other things she did not. Her days were numbered, she knew that. But she would continue to live to the fullest until her last day.
