Malleus sat between his fishing lines, his contemplative gaze directed out over the water. His mood was unchanged from the last time he'd gone fishing. There was a lot for him to think about and sort through, and self evaluating oneself was a difficult thing. He was too close to the problem and couldn't see the forest for the trees.

He had a good family and great kids, but without Serene to vent to and relax with Malleus found himself unable to unwind well. Though he was independent and fully capable of surviving on his own, things had changed after getting to know Serene. He felt like one half of whatever they were and without her there being only one half of something left him feeling incomplete. He craved companionship and he missed bitterly what he'd had with her.

Malleus has a barbary macaque companion named Pascal. Unless he is mentioned IC it's safe to assume he's not with Malleus.

she had found herself deeper in Boreas than she thought she'd be.

leaving the mainland, Bee would wander aimlessly during the few days it took to get to Auster. she didn't know the land here and that was exciting to her. she could map like that man Fracture had, but only if she had supplies for it... she had nothing to trade for and no knowledge to craft her own stuff. but she pressed on, her paws aching as she continued to travel. a small nook lay in front of her and she paused, leaning her head forward to look inside.

the woman could easily smell the berries despite the season. the snow would cover the scent soon enough, but her knowledge of Auster was lacking at best. who knew if the weather was different further south? she'd never been south before. Willoughby entered the nook, marveling at the different species of trees and plants that made their home here. she soon came across the other wolf, an older man by the looks of him, tending to a few fishing lines.

curiosity filled her crimson gaze as she walked toward him. "hello" the woman greeted him warmly, a smile upon her face as she stopped a few paces away. "do you mind if I join you? I've never seen fishing done like that before." flailing her paws in the water was her version of 'fishing'. but this man had a line and everything set up.

"Speech"
hope you don't mind me fast-forwarding it to autumn!
