fistful-a-bugs

Tyrian crouched down on a slanted tree trunk. It looked as though it had grown parallel to the ground for quite some time before realizing up was the way to go - and this weird quirk made it the perfect place to sit and wait for passing fireflies.
One forepaw hung off the trunk as Tyrian leaned out. The other, like his back paws, gripped the bark for support. His eyes were wide and catlike as he focused on a nearing cluster of lightning bugs. They drew closer and closer and with each passing seconds his eyes seemed to grow wider as he zeroed in on the fluttery insects. Finally when he could take the wait no longer Tyrian leaped after the cloud with paws and claws extended.
Unbeknownst to him, from the tall grass across from him, Zahir was having the same idea. She leaped at the same time and the two collided in a tangle of claws, fluff and hopefully insects.
