wandering from Winterfell, Heloise soon found herself in a strange landscape. she heard tales of the submerged woodlands from passing wolves, random and nothing concrete. to actually see it herself? breathtaking. the greens of the earth lay below the ice, a sheet streaking across the ground and only breaking when the tops of trees visible. she walked amongst them, a pale ghost almost blended in with the ground itself. she wondered how old they were, the foliage below, yet had no formal way of knowing.

Kresnik soared above her, always circling his mistress below. he was a constant guardian wherein she needed none but felt it was prudent to keep tabs on her regardless. he was a welcomed companion, and they had learned from each other during their short time together. they even cared about each other. the two had taken a break from Winterfell to scout beyond the borders, wishing to see what lay further north. she was met with predictable ice and white. looking around the flattened landscape, she would pause; in the distance, over the snow falling, she could make out an approaching figure.

an ear flickered backward, yet she did nothing but wait for them to come closer.
