Belle was becoming restless in the den, she was ready to go out and be the Empress again. Not that she didn’t adore watching her puppies grow, their first trip out of the den would come in less than a few weeks. She was close to the end, but she wasn’t sure she was ready to expose her newborns to the world. Of course they could barely be called newborns now, they were becoming rather mobile. Their eyes were open and they could hear perfectly. Their little legs were developing strength and keeping them corralled within was increasingly more difficult.

She sighed heavily, ready to take a nap alongside them since they were finished nursing. They were exhausting, but as they snuggled up and drifted into sleep Belle found herself falling in love all over again. She smiled softly and watched them quietly.
