Rain continued rolling in rivulets down the roof of the shed while Valdís set up her supplies. She unfolded a piece of deer skin that held sinew, twine, bear claws and beads. It had taken her nearly the whole season to gather the items she wanted to use to make a necklace for Ásvor. At least this time she had help. She looked up to smile at Embla, the raven who had recently entered a pact with her. The raven's skills for some of her meat, a pact that was sure to benefit both of them and it had already. The crafty bird had been able to wrap some sinew around the claws in such a way that they'd be able to hang it from the twine. Valdís lay sphynx-like as she mulled over the items, trying to decide on a design. Next to her Jynette, her red fox, curled in close to her side to ward off the chilly weather.
