In the wake of the disaster, he had encountered many of the Ashen pups, and all of them had seemed depressed and scared after all that had happened. Deathbelle’s children had lost a father, but it was possible Dutch’s had as well. They had all lost their pack lands, and he knew the children were feeling lost and confused.

Sirius was more of a drill sergeant then a nanny, so when he approached the idea of how to take their minds off of it, distract them, and also to supply the Ashen pack with food, he had one idea come to mind.

So he stood on the borders of Redwater Rocks and Illusion Oasis, lifted his head, and called to all the little ones in Ashen, inviting them, tinging on an order, to come and spend some time with him.

Toxicity drew her and her father's sigil in the dirt. She made circles around herself. She drew them big and small. Again, again, again, and again. She sought answers that just weren't there. Tox scratched the sigils in trees, fallen logs. She made some out of fallen branches and leaves. She made one out of small bones. How many did she have to make before her father saw them from heaven?

When Sirius called, Toxicity had no desire to go. Why? What could she learn that could take her to God? There was nothing she could learn in her mortal body that would bring her closer to her father's side once again. But he had called. And he was a higher rank or something, so Toxicity came, dragging her feet the whole way. She came to the man, a flat, dead expression in her eyes. She spared no greeting save for the faintest nod of her head. She had no desire to learn for the first time in her still short life. She wanted her dad back.

Pestilence trailed in after Toxicity, casting a dirty look towards the back of her sister's skull as she approached. She'd seen her stupid sigils everywhere and each time it reminded the pup of the loss and pain and anger she felt. Anytime she spotted one in the dirt she stamped it out, and scratched lines in the ones etched into a tree's bark. Dad had died because of their stupid God, why did she have such devotion to him? Pestilence sniffed in disdain, lifting a paw to hastily sweep off any moisture from her cheek.

She didn't know why Sirius had called them and frankly she didn't care - he hadn't called just Pestilence but all of her siblings. Family time didn't sound like something that would soothe her pain, especially if her other siblings couldn't stop wishing and hoping and praying to Abraxas. "Hi."She snapped, the greeting cold and far from friendly.

For the first time since he had learned to talk, Plague had been eerily silent. He had withdrawn from his siblings and kept to himself, secluding himself away from any and everything. Their father had been his idol, everything the young godling had ever wanted to be. The man was a devout follower of Abraxas, the Fallen God, and yet...their God had seen fit to smite him along with an unmet uncle. He wasn't bitter and angry as he had often observed Pest being, but he wouldn't throw himself into the religion as Tox did either. Lost was a good word to describe the way the pup felt, and there was anger, but he had no will to act on anything.

Depression had set in, even after the move from his birth home, Plague hadn't been himself. He wasn't far away when he heard Sirius call for the pups of Ashen, but his usual want to be first wasn't there. He took his time arriving at the call. He felt as though his soul was sick and he didn't want to go about taxing his body, all he really wanted to do was sleep. He also wanted to cry, but he held his tears back. Being sad and bitter wouldn't help him feel better, maybe Sirius could.

Sirius was a constant in the girl’s life, a strong pillar that she could look up to and find comfort in. He was a strict and hard teacher, but he could also be soft when that tactic was called for. She didn’t have her dad anymore, a fact that haunted her daily and would for a long time to come. Sirius was a decent substitute. He didn’t know anything about the Lord Abraxas, but that was alright. He could teach her the ways of the mortal world just fine.

She slouched alongside Plague as he made an appearance from their temporary den. Venom hadn’t missed how quiet he was, and knew that their father’s death shook him hard. She nosed his shoulder comfortingly as she came to sit beside him. Lilac gaze gave him a comforting look before she turned her attention to Sirius.
