One ear tipped back as the steady crunch of footsteps behind her caught her attention. It was back, apparently. Amaretto was caught somewhere between concern and annoyance. On the one hand, a deer stalking a wolf was a bit alarming considering the roles were usually reversed. On the other...it was a deer. At its worst it was a kicker. She'd never heard of one biting and antlers should have been shed at this point. So what was there to fear?

Nothing, probably, but she still didn't want to tangle with it. Illness was a good motivator during times like these and sickness wasn't something Amaretto wanted to tangle with. For now she was content to move away; to navigate this unfamiliar territory and put distance between herself and the strange beast.

Her paws had barely touched down on a smooth outcropping when the sound of hurried hooves behind her caused Amaretto to whip around. The deer, foam flecking its lips, tongue lolling and eyes rolling, was racing at her. It shook its head as it ran; seemingly brandishing antlers that weren't there. It was crazed, that much was clear.

Alarmed by such an uncharacteristic display, Amaretto bolted. She flew through the ash-coated leaf litter with ease, her paws hardly seeming to touch the ground. As she ran she looked ahead and plotted out her next steps. No way she was getting cornered somewhere with that thing. She didn't know what was wrong with it and she didn't want to find out.
Amaretto has a male cotton top tamarin named Georgi who is with her at all times unless stated otherwise.

Eir was on a new journey to the southbound of Boreas, prey of her endless thirst for adventure and exploration. Nothing or no one could ever stop her from the casual travels she often did, this was part of who she was, a traveler not only by heart but by blood. But unlike the previous occasions, she wasnt visiting a new land, this one was previously toured by her but not in a deep manner. That could be one reason for her being here again. She wanted to explore it, but this time she was going to be here longer, or that was the plan.

There she walked by the river's bank, taking note of how changed the place was in comparison to her last visit. The place wasnt green anymore, all was turned into a wasteland of sorts, where green was replaced by grey and dismal scents. Burned soil and grass remained where once green fields carpeted the land, and the water was still blue but with some grey on it. It was such a sad picture, but Eir's face remained calm, untouched by any feeling. She was an expert with suppressing them deep inside that cold mask.

As she walked, a sudden noise pulled her attention away from the river and when she lifted her head, her cyan eyes witnessed an odd situation, one no one could see coming. A deer chased a wolf, and Eir's head tilted to a side, but watching the severity of the scene, without wasting time she ran toward the deer, wanting to help the fellow canine. With jaws open she attempted to bite on the animal's left hind leg, shaking her head from side to side with the hopes of producing pain.

Amaretto glanced once more over her shoulder to chart the progress of the crazed and possibly sickly deer. It was still quite a ways behind her, but even at a distance she could see the glaze in its eyes and the uncharacteristic fearlessness about its person.

She turned back around and promptly tripped over a giant orange pumpkin. It seemed to have appeared out of nowhere; one second her path was clear and the next it was blocked. She knew that was impossible and so immediately jumped to the more likely possibility that she had simply been too focused on the deer to note the oversized neon vegetable.

Amaretto flipped end over end and then rolled to her paws. Fearing the mistake had cost her too much time and space, she spun to face the deer. Much to her surprise she found a wolf engaging the ill animal.

Well, she couldn’t run and leave the wolf alone now, could she? It was time to engage.

“It’s sick!” she called as she ran to help.
