Mysterious As The Dark Side of the Moon

Álarr settled on the edge of the dancefloor He had finished sorting his herbs for the day and now set out to do a little training. The freezing weather had brought his activity to a halt apart from what was necessary to maintain his stores. He hadn't really wanted to go out and exercise or spar when the weather was so blasted cold. Now that spring was moving in he felt it was time to put away the excuses even if the weather hadn't noticeably improved.
He glanced over at Afi who gave an encouraging nod and then he tipped his head and howled for a challenger.

She didn’t want to keep losing to Sirius, he was going to beat her bloody and she knew it. If she could go out on her own time and try to take him on.. Poem knew better than to be tardy to any of his lessons, but he kept a decently tight schedule and she was able to do her own thing while she was recovering between bouts.
The call for someone to spar brought her attention quickly and Poem made her way to the sounds. She hadn’t expected the boy, who looked so much like Tyrian and Jupiter. He must have been another of her dad’s brothers or cousins. She debated about showing up in Legion even though she’d won the little fight with the blue marked bastard. Just to see his reaction.
For the boy though her features were neutral if not interested. He smelled of herbs as well. Poem offered a small grin in greeting. ”Hello,” her words were soft, but her recent wounds obvious. Sirius wasn’t conservative with his knife. ”I’m Poem Destruction, you’re looking for a spar?” She couldn’t help the innate draw to polite friendliness.

Álarr stretched lightly while he waited and he was grateful that he didn't have to wait for long. A large girl approached and he smiled and nodded at her question. "Yea, I am! My name is Álarr Imperialis. Say, if you've got time afterwards would you want to chat a bit? My Auntie's last name is Destruction. I'm curious if you're related." Really he would be fine with just chatting and not fighting but he knew he needed to get better and he'd been procrastinating lately.
Álarr set his defenses and faced off against the girl, picked a target then charged. He kicked off violently and although he wasn't that much bigger he wanted to see what he could do with a little more momentum. His head dove down and twisted to the size as he sought to wrap his jaws around her left forearm just below the elbow. At the same time he lanced his left shoulder forward seeking to slam it into her chest. He wanted to combine the slam with his bite in the hopes that the force of his jaws would push her leg back since the bite was right below the joint in the hopes he could throw her off balance.

”I would like that.” She told him with the hint of a smile and a quick nod before throwing her own defenses into position. She balanced her weight and bent her joints, her bright blue and lavender gaze on him as he suddenly came running for her. There wasn’t much difference in size, but he did have the advantage.
Poem did her best to dance away from his attack, but his teeth grazed her arm and his shoulder pushed heavily against her. Their huge bodies colliding would leave a good bruise, but he hadn’t drawn blood yet and she hadn’t been pushed over. Poem took advantage of their close proximity. She aimed to rear back on her legs and wrap her front paws around his torso while she aimed to grab hold tightly to his scruff so she could control him and pin him into submission.

The duo collided though she'd dodged off slightly and so his fangs only grazed her arm. His shoulder did hit though farther off than he'd like. He quickly coiled his legs in preparation for her retaliation, wincing at the soreness of his shoulder. She reared back, her arms wrapping around him but he was far from done. As Poem's head tilted down to dive for his scruff he titled his head up and kicked off with his hind legs seeking to launch himself forward and up, his jaws aiming for her throat just below her jaws. If anything he hoped to scare her into surrendering.

She had her limbs around him, but her bite was deflected by Alarr’s quick movements. His open jaws collided with her teeth and he was shifted to the side so he grabbed her cheek instead. Poem didn’t bite back her yip as she felt his teeth in the sensitive skin, and she aimed to grab hold of his cheek with their close proximity. She aimed to hold more tightly to him with her grasp. Her eyes watered as the battled continued and she hoped that she might pull out a call of submission from him. They were mostly evenly matched, despite her lack of companion.
