Things were finally returning to normal for Pyrrhic. He had been forcing himself to do the things he'd done before the accident. Sooner or later they would stick and become what they'd been to him before his father's death. He'd enjoyed sparring and hunting, tinkering and brainstorming. He wanted to find enjoyment in those things again. More than that, he needed to. Pyrrhic was afraid of becoming frozen; afraid of atrophying like an unchallenged muscle.

With muscles on the brain, Pyrrhic trotted to the center of the runestones. He hadn't sparred since Iroh challenged him to smile and it was time for that to change. Inactivity was a slippery slope. If he wasn't careful his flexibility and stamina would trickle away from him so slowly it would likely escape his notice. If his slothfulness persisted there would come a day when he went to fight and found himself as capable of defending himself as a fresh-faced yearling.

Pyrrhic raised his voice to the heavens and called for any and all who wished to test their mettle with him.

Iroh never forgot about his training. His mother was gone and his brother was distant. Sarabi was his closest companion and Banshee was on his mind more often than he wanted to admit. So he focused on patrolling and keeping in shape. He’d lost most of his adolescent gangliness and was near fully filled out. Iroh was turning into an impressive wolf, and he wanted his skills to match his appearance. He’d been training his whole life but he knew he was still learning.

He and Sarabi had been on patrol when they heard Pyrrhic’s call for a challenger. Iroh was quick to reply, as always he was ready in case his cousin needed him. He strove to be Pyrrhic’s General, just like he said when he was a child. ”Pyrrhic!” Iroh called out eagerly, his deep voice sounding more at ease than he felt as he padded up to the other Abraxas. Iroh was always up for a good spar with his cousin.

Ah, of course Iroh answered the call. Pyrrhic grinned at his cousin as he and his mandrill companion approached. Once Iroh was within range he reached out and tried to thump him on the shoulder with a paw. He greeted the younger Abraxas with a warm and simple, "Iroh." Through everything Iroh had been a rock. In a way he reminded Pyrrhic of his dad. His presence was always solid and never, not once, had he ever been anything but a rational voice even when Pyrrhic was struggling with irrationality. For one so young he was just the sort of sounding board Pyrrhic needed. "You up for a match? A crummy morning like this would sure be improved by a spar."

Iroh felt like he’d been through thick and thin with his cousin. Though some of their family disappeared, died, or were distant, Iroh could count on his cousin being right there with him. He was eager to answer the summons of a spar too, he had a lot of pent up energy that needed to be expended. Pyrrhic couldn’t have spoken truer words, it was a crummy day and it could only be improved by a spar. ”Always.” He promised as he drew himself up into his defenses.

Iroh wasn’t usually the first to move but he hoped his sudden action might take his cousin slightly off guard. With his bigger body Iroh aimed to approach and rear up so he might wrap his arms around his cousins neck and begin to wrestle him to the ground. At the same time he’d open his black jaws and aim to grab hold of Pyrrhic’s left ear to both distract and gain better control.
