Odette Mooncrest

Odette sat on the edge of the inlet, basking in the sunlight during the last few minutes of her free time before she would be forced to return to the hen house. It was good, honest work, and it kept Odette busy where she would otherwise be bored. However, hearing the constant chirps and callings of hens, chicks, and roosters, just a few yards from her den site, meant the female had grown to appreciate pure silence. It was deafening, in a way, but it was peaceful as well. Here her ears could focus on the soft ripples of the tide, or the sound of the wind rusting through the grass. It was relaxing to say the least. However while her body may be relaxed, her mind seemed to be constantly running, as questions continued to pop into her head; What started a breeze? When did a river stop flowing? How do the plants come back after winter? Where do the bugs go?

She sighed softly to herself as she laid down between the tall blades of grass, rolling onto her back so she may watch the blades dance in the breeze and the clouds move across the sky. Her mind constantly moving like the winds of nature, but her body stilled like the earth beneath. Odette let out a long breath once more before letting her eyes fall close.. just for a moment or two, as she tried to will her brain to come to a stop.

Eliphas possesed beautiful, pink skin that was just as delicate as his frame. The albinism thta made him who he was also made the young Klein averse to the sunlight. He burned easily, and his skin would burn and blister if he remained for too long. His paws carried him quickly through the grasses, if it was the day he was usually on one of the well foliaged islands.

The alabaster Klein raced through the sun streaked grasses, eager to get back to shelter before he burned. The dainty wolf was so focused on his task that he didn’t notice the young woman laying in the thickets. As the boy ran he accidentally tripped over her, resulting in him being sent flying into the grass. Head over heels he was thrown to the ground with an audible ‘thud.’

Eli moaned softly as his bearings returned to him, be blinked back dual toned eyes as his features were turned to the woman he’d fallen over.

Odette Mooncrest

Submersed in her winding trails of thought, Odette was completely oblivious to the light shaking in the earth as another barreled towards her. Instead, the fawn woman was contemplating the structure of a cloud; what exactly it was made of, and in particular, if the weight of a cloud changed when it held rain water. She imagined the simple answer was yes, but then that pegged the question; what did the cloud weighed before the rain water was added? Now Odette was stuck in the void, constantly wondering and debating silently with herself about the lightness of a cloud.

Suddenly, as her azure eyes slowly followed the distant white fluff balls floating across the blue sky, a similar blob of white appeared rapidly, and very... very close. Without comprehanding what was happening, all Odette could do was take the hit, causing the air to be forced from her lungs rapidly. Was I just hit... with a cloud? She thought to herself at first, who knew clouds weighed so much? As the female gasped sharply for oxygen to fill her deprived lungs once more, she turned to face her assaulter with wide eyes. When she suddenly realized she was hit by a fellow wolf, a small smile of relief passed her lips briefly. "Oh thank goodness, I thought a cloud fell on me." She chuckled softly, trying to make light of the situation.

"Did I miss something? Where are you running off to in such a rush?" While Odette would normally be a very shy individual, she was feeling more confident knowing this male was a member of her pack; she could tell by the familiar scent laced into his pearl coat, along with his own unique musk. She felt a pang of guilt however, for not knowing the male. Was he new? Or was she simply a hermit living with a bunch of chickens? Somehow, Odette really didn't want to know the answer.
