He was, admittedly, very much behind in his duties. He meant to rectify this, as he padded slowly through the plains. Gently he called for Viviane, inviting her for a lesson. As he waited, he scanned the surroundings, noting various plants and herbs that might prove useful for this lesson. She was still a beginner, but he knew she was a quick learner from what Aurielle had said, and she would be likely to ask good questions that he could expand on the subject with, delving a little deeper into the subject. His eyes lit finally on a stand of yarrow and he nodded mutely to himself, satisfied. That would be a good one to do for the day. Yarrow was one of the best-known plants to most healers.

Things had been relatively quiet despite the new pack moving into the next territory. Viviane was especially careful to contribute to sentry duty as was her... well, duty... despite the quiet and the seeming lack of danger. Despite that contribution, Viv still felt somewhat extraneous to the pack, like she wasn't doing everything she could to help. She was a healer by trade and inclination, and felt that she should be practicing that in order to live her best life and contribute in the fullest manner to Valhalla, the pack that had been there for her her whole life. The pack had been, as a whole, fairly healthy though, and with her lack of knowledge she wasn't sure how best to go about checking on everyone or felt that she should be yet, so she wasn't feeling particularly useful. Aurielle had given her some training and incouraged her to seek her out for more, but Aurielle already had two other trainees to concentrate on as well so she hadn't yet done so. So when Paladin called for her, Viviane immediately perked up with bright eyes and a smile. She wasn't on sentry duty at the moment and had nothing else going on so his summons was well-timed, and she wasted no further time with anything else and immediately set off at a trot to find him.

"Hi, Paladin!" she called out when she came into view of the older healer, and bounced to a stop when she reached his side. "Are we doing some training today?"

Paladin smiled as Viviane bounced into view, chuckling softly under his breath and greeting her in return, tail tapping gently on the ground, “Hello, Viviane. Yes, we are. First, we’ll walk around this particular spot and see what you can identify, and then the plant we find, we’ll talk about how it’s used." He rose to his paws with a shake and mental groan. He was beginning to feel the years, even though he was only six. Hell, Regulus had made it to ten and that big red beast had only really started showing his age after he hit nine, other than the stress-greying of his muzzle. He smiled at Viv as he led the way, strolling around the small clearing in the tall grass, letting her examine the plants and surroundings around them. There were actually several different Plains-growing plants in just this spot, but he figured Yarrow would be the most identifiable plant there.
