Mæva noisily gulped down chunks of meet from the hare she'd managed to catch. It was warm out in the west, dare she say it was even hot! Winter seemed to be moving more slowly to this region. That was fine with her, she'd take advantage of the warmer weather while she had it. It was nice to just relax and soak in the sun while eating a snack. What could be better?

Her contentment was cut short at the sound of something big moving toward her. She turned her head to see a scruffy black shape moving in her direction. Oh hell… another bear? Did bears just not hibernate in Boreas? Or perhaps, since the weather was so much warmer here the time for hibernation was delayed and the dumb bear was looking for easy prey to stuff itself. The bear charged with a roar and Mæva sprang out of the way. It seemed more interested in her rabbit carcass. She snarled and frizzed up her fur then leapt forward and bit the bear in the rear. It snarled and whirled around to face her.

He had taken a trip out of the North to get away from the dropping temperatures and the blizzards that seemed to ravage them this year. Much to his rare delight, the western and southern parts of Boreas were significantly warmer, so needless to say he let loose a sigh of relief the further he went. He figured while he was down here, he might as well try to find some prey to bring back, but as he picked up a fresh doe trail, he also happened to pick up a black bear following the same trail he was following. The doe was likely a young one since he doubted they hunted full grown adults. Frowning, he followed both trails a ways until he heard something up ahead. A crash in the brush, a cry of pain. He was fully alert and well aware that the bear was likely attacking something already, and not willing to lose the doe he was tracking, he rushed ahead to try and run the bear off.

To his surprise, it wasn't a doe that the bear was attacking, but a pup! His instinct told him he should help, and he decided to do that as opposed to walking away. If it had been a full grown wolf, however, he likely would have just walked away since an adult would likely be able to handle one on their own. Running forward, Greed aimed to tackle the black bears side. Once contact was made, he reached for its scruff so he could grab hold and pull the bear off balance as well as gain control of its head.

Another wolf came flying out of nowhere, tackling the bear and grabbing hold of its scruff. The bear roared and bucked, trying to reach around to grab the man. Mæva readied herself and as the bear spun past her a second time she reached out and bit at it's hindquarters once more. It was a blow meant to tear flesh and not to gain a hold and the worsening of the previous would led to the bear noticeably bleeding. It roared and turned around to swipe at her but she'd already scampered up a nearby rock. She stood there growling at the upset bear.

The bear bucked and desperately tried to reach him, but Greed had a firm hold on its scruff and danced around on his hind legs (a rather ungraceful dance at that) as he was dragged this way and that with each movement the bear did. He was focused on his current task, and didn't dare let go to see where the pup had gone to. When the bear let out another cry of pain and the smell of blood grew stronger, so he figured the kid had bitten the bear again. When it spun around to swipe at her, Greed moved with it for a second before readjusting his grip and viciously shaking his head to worsen the bite. The bear reared back, swiping at its neck to try to dislodge him, however, as Greeds weight pulled back, he also pulled the bear off balance and both went dropping to the ground.

Mæva watched as the man thrashed the bear's scruff, ripping it. "Yea, get him!" She cheered as the bear struggled and failed to reach the wolf that had hold of his scruff. The two tumbled to the ground and Mæva saw another opportunity. She bounded down from her rock, golden eyes fixed on the bright red mark on the bears butt. Fangs bared she leapt forward and bit down once more, this time holding on as long as she could, trying to thrash her head like she'd seen the man do.

Howling, the bear leapt forward and she lost her grip. It shook it's self out, staring at both wolves and taking a few steps back as it debated weather the girls meager rabbit was really worth all this trouble.
