Mæva had meant to check her boundaries with her father before going to the Battlefield. While they were given pretty much the run of surrounding territories she had the feeling he wouldn't want her wandering all the way up north.

Still, one thing lead to another as she was traveling and chatting with Geira and before she knew it the impulse to check out the battlefield again and overwhelmed her and the journey began. It took a good amount of time to travel that distance and by the time she arrived it was early evening. That was alright though. She remembered the den they'd stayed in at the Mile-High Woods. She could stay there for the night. With Geira along side she'd also have someone to help tend to any injuries. While the caracal was not a healer by profession she did know basic first aid.

Mæva threw back her head and howled for an opponent.

Void wanted to get better for Theory, he’d won one fight in the raid and he was nearly convinced that was a fluke. If he didn’t put the work in he wasn’t going to get results so as his mind filled with thoughts of the future and his family and what might happen again.. he wandered to the battlefield. He was kind of an adult now and after mentioning his whereabouts to the wolf on patrol he made his way here.

He blinked his eyes as he took in the lands for the first time on his own. He felt small, but he had a reason for being here. His attention was caught by a howl and he knew right away she couldn’t be much younger than he was. With his inexperience the boy was sure this was the right opponent to start his path on.

His tall form approached slowly, offering a quick nod as he came to a half a few meters away. He called out, ”I’ll spar with you.” Void told her as he took up his defenses and waited for her to make the first move.

Mæva fidgeted from paw to paw, trying to release the nervous energy she could feel churning in her gut. She was eager for the fight but she also wanted to do her best, especially with Geir standing there.

Her call was answered by a boy about her age who agreed to take her up on a spar. "Great! My name is Mæva." She felt it would be polite to introduce herself. She quickly set her defenses and eyed the boy for a moment before springing forward into a low run. She side stepped to her left seeking to throw the front of her right shoulder into the front of his right elbow as her fangs sought to dig into his right shoulder.

She seemed as nervous as he felt, but she was enthusiastic and offered her name to him. He’d fought in the raid, that should have given him the experience to not feel the anxiety he had on the battlefield. Still, she was younger than he was and had confidence, he could do the same. The tall boy lifted his head a bit and spread out his weight between his legs as he bent his limbs. She was smaller, and more agile, but he wasn’t to be underestimated.

Void wouldn’t stand there and take it, as she began their spar Void helped her to close the distance between them, he leapt forward and threw his right shoulder into her attack. He was bigger so could take the hit better, but that didnt mean he didn’t feel a bruise form on his shoulder and her teeth sink into the flesh on his side.

With his own jaws the yearling male aimed to grab hold of her scruff from above. If he could gain control of her smaller form he could contrl the course of battle.

Mæva collided into the boy and it hurt! She winced, gritting her teeth but pleased all the same that she'd managed to score a bite on the boy's shoulder. She tried to dig in deep and get a more solid hold but as her focus was on her own attack and not her opponents she didn't ascertain Void's movement until she felt teeth in her scruff. Oh no!

Mæva released her grip on his shoulder then coiled her legs suddenly, trying to forcefully drop herself out of his jaws as her own reached out in a bid for his right wrist. Maybe if she attacked lower and pushed forward she could throw his balance. Assuming she could even get out of his jaws in the first place. After all he was good deal bigger and stronger than her.

Void wanted to cry out as her teeth sunk into his flesh, but he didn’t let out a sound. Her teeth really hurt, but he wouldn’t think about it until after the battle. For now he’d let the adrenaline get him through. As he grabbed hold of the younger girl’s scruff she dropped like a rock. Void instinctively jumped back as he released, unintentionally avoiding her grab for his wrist.

She did manage to make him lose his balance, not enough to fall but enough where he was jumping away that he landed awkwardly. While trying to recover Void aimed to swipe his huge paw at Mæva’s face. He wouldn’t cause pain but if he got her on the bridge of the nose it would sting.
