Superiority

Rayios rarely stayed in the castle. He slept elsewhere, choosing to keep distance when it came to his most vulnerable moments. Although his presence was still felt from time to time. Occasionally the boy would go see the slaves, or Borias, or both. He would have his lessons, then head back off to do his own thing. Sometimes he would ask the slaves to do a task, or have a conversation with them, to check up on their mentality and analyze what they say and how they act. They were each bred for different purposes, he noticed.
He also sometimes mimicked the behavior of Borias, only to come across as more in power. But it was beginning to feel tame. He had much to learn in the way of brainwashing and caretaking, but he was starting to grow anxious. He wanted to try and tame someone himself. To do that, he'd need to bulk up, keep his skills sharp. Who could he fight...what could he fight?
As the teen walks through the garden on his way to the castle, his nose catches wind of something. Right on time, Mother Nature. It is the smell of death; with it is the sound of vultures and the crunching of bone. There must be something worth fighting up ahead. He speeds up to a trot, head and tail risen to display superiority, hackles rising out of excitement. It is only when the carcass comes into view does he lower his head, open his maw, and spread his toes for balance. A pack of coyotes--three, to be exact, possibly from the same litter--all for him.
Only one bothers to face him, the other two occupied with their scavenging. He lowers his ears and begins to snarl, tail now leveled for balance, and charges at the closest oblivious coyote. Fangs sink into the lower back area, landing more or less on the spine as he aims to get to good grip and use his weight to keep the coyote from running.
