The rio grande was filled with fish. Koby had come here realizing this after he had been in the Orchard for a few days. After all it had been a while since he had eaten. Unfortunately without his main diet he had to eat more often. It had been a month since he'd eaten but these lands seemed filled with prey. So lucky for him he was going to be able to eat his fill and perhaps he could go a few more months without the need for eating. Koby didn't know why but he hated eating. While other cobra's enjoyed eating Koby found it... incoveinent. How did predators eat each week, each day?! It was such a waste of time, he'd rather be out collecting objects, exploring and reading the stars. He sighed but then concentrated on the task at hand.

It didn't take long for Koby to fish out two large fish and consume them whole. His large head engulfing the animals as he swallowed and flickered his tongue out. The Cobra was standing at least three feet tall at the moment. As he finished his meal he decided to stay where he was near the bank. Soaking in the sun as it shined perfectly on his irridescent scales. Because of the winter he'd been slow and the little sunshine he got was a blessing in disguise.

While Eyrún had no qualms with waiting around to see what the future had in store for her, she was hardly what one would consider a patient wolf. More often than not she found herself wondering what sort of future lie ahead of her, wishing she knew precisely what the gods had in store for her so that she could enact their will more concisely. But she knew that wasn't how things worked, and that she'd have to attempt patience in the meantime. What that looked like... well, she wasn't always sure. Whatever direction the band went, she would follow, and until then she'd find some way to both entertain herself and work toward betterment.

Today she wasn't quite sure what she'd find as she neared the shores of the Rio Grande. What she definitely didn't anticipate was seeing a cobra, standing even taller than she did, at the edge of the water. She had no doubt that some wolves wouldn't dare approach him, but in her family's culture snakes were hardly seen as something to be feared. Curious, Eyrún's ears flicked forward as she sauntered forward, a brow raised in slow inquiry. She wasn't sure she'd ever seen such a large serpent before, and she couldn't help but wonder if he'd been sent to her as a sign from the gods. "Enjoying the sun?" Eyrún let out a low chuckle, slowing her pace as she drew closer to him, maintaining a safe distance.

The sun filled him with energy and he was happy about that. Winter was the worst time for him and you wouldn't see a cold blooded creature heading to the north anytime soon. It was then that a wolf graced his presence. They of course dominated this land and it was no surprise to him that one approached him. His new home was filled with the interesting cultures of these canines. Of course he had seen her because his eyes were always open. Koby turned his head to her and smiled. "I indeed am Ma'm. The sssun givesss me energy. Winter is a harssh time for a ssnake." he nodded his head. Slithering down from the rock he came to greet the beautiful white tinted wolf.

"My name issss Koby, what do I owe thisss pleasssure?" his head tilted to one side as his tongue flickered out. What would the world bring him today? By the scents of it she belonged to a group, but he never pryed into that sort of stuff. He already was interested in her name her manners and what she was happy doing with her life. Every wolf here was unique and he enjoyed that.

Wolves and snakes, at least ones of Koby's size, were no real threat to one another - he was far too big to qualify as the type of serpent she'd try to eat, and likewise she knew he couldn't even try to consume her... though perhaps a small pup might not be so lucky. It was a curious thought more than anything, and she found herself dwelling on it for a moment as the snake began to speak. Though his voice had a curious inflection, she had no difficulty understanding him. "I could imagine," she replied smoothly, raising a brow as she took a few strides closer to him. She wouldn't get too close, though that had more to do with the fact that he was a stranger to her, rather than the sort of creature he was. Though usually she was wary of those she did not know, she found herself somewhat awestruck by Koby; each second that passed confirmed to her he was no doubt some kind of deity, if only because she'd never seen anything like him before. If not a deity himself, perhaps he was some kind of vision? Some sort of creature imbued with the essences of the gods themselves?

"A pleasure, Koby." His presence warranted a sort of politeness that she rarely displayed, though still her expression was inching toward reverent amusement. "My name is Eyrun Finnvi. I belong to the Hjarrandi Band. We happen to be passing through" Along with her manners, such information was far more than she'd ever give most strangers... but he was no wolf, but something else entirely, and she trusted him with this knowledge for a reason she herself didn't quite comprehend.

Koby found himself watching the wolf curiously. How she acted around him and how she regarded him. However, it seemed she was good at hiding her thoughts. He was no mind reader and while he was a bit more in tune with a wolf's body language he still did not know how the species truly expressed their feelings. Eyrun finnivi, he would remember that as he watched her. A band then? Did they travel like he did? The cobra was nomadic he had no true home here. "A nomadic group then?" he asked with happiness in his voice as he pushed himself down curling his lower body in a spiral.

"Would you like your fotune told by chance? I am a fortune teller and wissh to be known all throughout Boreass ass ssuch." He figured he would offer. Koby admitted she interested him, the was a curious one. What lay in this Finnivi name? What lay in her future as well. Koby never really cared what came out of his tellings they were for the one getting them, but information was greatly appreciated for the snake indeed.

Eyrún was admittedly torn with how she was supposed to act. Should she grovel before him, and treat him as a deity? He was surely no typical creature, she had long since decided. Hopefully their further interactions would give her some idea of what she should do. "Yes, indeed!" She answered his question a bit too gleefully, her eyes even more wide now at his interest. "We call ourselves the Hjarrandi band. We never stay long in one place." The life that the band provided her was much-needed. Being idle didn't suit her. She needed to be doing something, even if to outsiders that something looked entirely pointless.

Wait... he was a fortune teller? So perhaps he wasn't a deity himself, but a messenger of sorts, bringing signs from the gods above to this mortal plane. That was important in its own right and Eyrún was definitely beyond interested in his company now. "I'd be honored," she admitted, sounding a bit awed at the offer itself. She had no doubt she'd be able to tell right away if he was being honest in his fortune telling ability right away, and she was eager to get started. "Is there anything you need to get started?" She wasn't completely ignorant to how these things went, and would be surprised if he could begin right away.

A band? He hadn't heard of that before, in the midst of his thoughts he almost thought it wonderful. The Cobra however was not a wolf, he didn't see himself doing well in a large group of them unless it was for a visit. The snake enjoyed being on his own and speaking to the gods above him. Still it gave him much joy to be interacting with another nomad making him smile. Regardless Eyrun seemed excited for a fortune making him slither down from his rock so he could be on her level. Glad that she asked if she needed to prepare. The last encounter he had, the boy had refused just because of the small bit of work put into it.

"Hunt any piece of prey you desssire larger prey isss eassier to read, but it'sss all up to your preference. I read the bonesss left or extracted from prey you hunt." He quickly explained with a flicker of his tongue. "Isss there by chance a language you know other than thisss tongue? I know sssome and it isss easssier than sspeaking thiss." he was hoping however, Koby was well versed in many tongue but not all. There was a chance she knew something that he didn't.

Though she didn't know everything about how the gods worked, but she knew nothing like this would be free. At minimum she would have to give something for this fortune teller's time, and at least for her something as small as a prey animal didn't seem like a terribly large sacrifice. The large the better, he explained. Thoughtfully she hummed as she considered the easiest option. If given time she could take down a prey animal considerably larger but she didn't trust that Koby would stick around forever in her absence - he had little reason to. "Give me a bit, and I shall return," she promised with him a faint grin. He went on to ask, before she left, if she spoke any other languages. She shook her head. "Unfortunately no. This is all I have." Hopefully it would do even if communication wasn't the easiest between them, it would have to do.

With that, Eyrún veered away from him in search of a prey animal that would be suitable. Due to their proximity to the river she had a feeling prey might not be terribly hard to find, but after a decent walk away - Koby was no out of sight - she smelled no hint of anything that could be considered prey by any means. Except... she trekked toward the river and gazed into the gentle stream, wondering if a fish would do. He hadn't specified, just said that it would be easier to read something larger. She pondered for a moment before climbing down the riverbank and angling herself to get a good look at the water, waiting patiently for a bigger fish to float by. Most were small, hardly considered fish at all, but finally she caught sight of something larger - and with a flash she dove and snagged it between her jaws, emerging soaked and victorious as she begun her trek back to Koby. The fish writhed in her mouth for a moment but quickly stilled, and by the time she returned to him it was no longer moving, and triumphantly she dropped it near him.
