The sky above was overcast and dark as waves crashed against the shore. It didn't take a genius to figure out that a storm was on the horizon, a big one from the looks of it, but Hanako thought nothing of it as she wandered along with her eyes shining bright with awe. With her Keepers she'd travelled across many lands and terrains but she'd never seen anything quite as idyllic, as though it was pulled right out of a daydream. The sand was soft and squishy beneath her orangey paws and for a moment she felt a sharp pang of worry when she realised that if she wasn't careful she'd mess up her coat. Her Keepers always made a point of reminding her to be well groomed and presentable, like the lady she was.  She glanced over her shoulders, left and then right, half expecting to see Sander rushing over with a displeased scowl on his face. But she was all alone and had been for a little while. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she....

Lost in her thoughts Hanako didn't notice that the waves were drawing closer and closer, rolling up the beach as the tide came in.  And then a wave much larger and faster than those before rushed up the shore before she even had a chance to dart out of it's path. She yelped in surprise as the water sprayed over her, drenching her legs and underbelly. For a moment she stood there, mouth agape and eyes wide with shock. It was cold! The initial shock soon faded and Hanako found herself grinning from ear to ear as she broke into a gallop, charging forward into the water till she was up to her knees. She splished and splashed about, lost in her own, wet little world, not realising that the waves were getting rougher till one particularly strong wave almost swept her off her paws.

Vidar, being the sly-often creepy-man that he was, had been watching the young woman trot along. Contrary to the girls kept appearance, Vidar's paws were caked with blood, that appeared fresh. His muzzle had some blood splattered along it as well, but he was in the process of lapping it up eagerly.

The man's maw split into a wry grin as the wave appeared to overtake the girl. He trotted forwards, out from the cover of a shadow of some large rock. The man watched her carefully, brows knit in soft confusion. Did she not notice the wind howling and the waves threatening her? He shook his head, a dangerous grin splitting his maw.

He walked closer to the girl, his paws meeting the wetness of the waves as they lapped at his ankles. The water around his paws was stained pink, blood washing off with every pass of the waves. He peered down at the waves with momentary hesitation. What was the right thing to say?

"Ahh, a...death..mission?"
he called out, a seemingly soft smile on his maw. His words were slow to come, as he had to think before speaking due to the language barrier. He blinked at her in question, head cocked as he watched her in silence.

Hanako coughed and spluttered as she stumbled back up the beach into shallower waters. It was only then that she realised that she wasn't alone, that she had some company. For a moment she thought one of her Keepers had finally caught up with her but once she blinked the salt water from her eyes she realised that wasn't the case. He was a stranger, tall dark and handsome with sharp eyes, like he was already three steps ahead of her. Specks of blood lingered on his muzzle, just out of reach of his tongue and the water surrounding his paws was tinted a pretty pink. The sight should have worried her, or at least instilled a sense of caution in her, but instead rather naively she thought nothing of it. Like she'd never even noticed it at all.

Instead her head tipped at his question. A death mission? Why on earth would he think that? His words were a little stilted, but not out of shyness or uncertainty, rather as though he was not speaking in his mother tongue. But he'd gotten her all wrong, playing in the water made her feel  overwhelmingly alive, the closest to freedom she's ever gotten.

"Oh no, I was just playing, Sir. But thank you for thinking of me." She dipped her head in reverence, her eyes looking upon his paws once more. The blood was gone, swept back into the ocean without a trace, as though the waves wanted to keep his secrets.

She turned a little then, gazing out at the horizon as a wistful sigh slipped from her lips. The waves whipped and churned and as beautiful as it was Hanako reluctantly decided that it'd probably be best if she stayed out of the water for now, just in case it decided to try and knock her over again. Besides, she hardly wanted to prance and frolic around when she had company, it wasn't proper. But she'd be back, perhaps on a day when things were a little calmer and she was all alone, as she sort of wanted to be.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" She asked him, an easy smile on her lips.

The man listened to her intently, his bright eyes were almost unblinking. She was peculiar and seemed rather out of place. A fish on land, you could say. He chuffed to himself at the thought. His head cocked again as she began to speak, ears pivoting to face her form. The man raised his head to peer out over the waves for a moment, eyes squinting at the brewing storm. The distant waves crashed violently, white foam spraying from the impact. Judging by the storm's closeness, he assumed it would reach shore within the hour. The thought excited him.

It took him a few long moments to comprehend what the girl had said, and how to respond. A sly grin crept upon his lips at her naivety. His eyes roved over her form slowly, noting both her strange coloring as well as her general beauty. She was a looker for sure. His gaze returned to the skyline as he began to speak. She reminded him of the clouds on a particularly nice sunset.

"When the sky..."
he paused, nose scrunching in thought, "splits...with water, yes," he finally replied, nodding his head in agreement. The man turned to pad down the beach a little, his paws just out of the reach of the waves. His eyes were once again focused on the distant clouds, and the white crests of the waves.

"Dangerous, the waves," he added nonchalantly, watching a particularly large wave crash back into the ocean and dissipate. His gaze then flicked to the girl, pondering her reaction. He wondered if she would be afraid, or if she already knew of the coming danger. She appeared docile in nature, and her welcoming persona was interesting to Vidar, to say the least.

Hanako was quiet, patient, as the man began to speak again. Sure, he spoke slower than most and some wolves would probably find that annoying but she was rather unfazed by it, content to keep playing her role. All quiet and polite like she truly enjoyed the company of others. He went onto say, or at least she thought he did, that something was different about the water and that it could be dangerous. Her brows furrowed as she set her sights on the ocean once more. But how could something so beautiful be dangerous? It felt like it was calling out to her, singing its sweet siren song for her ears only. And oh how she wanted to heed it, to fall back into it's embrace, but her paws remained where they were, planted to the spot as she pushed her nails into the sand. There was just so much she didn't understand, the world was such a mystery to her.

"Oh. It doesn't look dangerous to me, but I will take your word on it." Not to heart though.

Oh but where were her manners? She'd gotten so distracted by the ocean that she hadn't even thought to introduce herself.

"I'm sorry, I'm Hanako. And what about you, what's your name Sir?" She asked, her smile inquisitive.
