He was a year old now, and the time he was alive had been spent primarily without his father. Océan still felt the hole in his heart, and wished every day he’d gotten more time with the man. He wore his likeness with pride though, and even if he wasn’t there anymore he could still feel proud of his son.. right? He tried to be there for his mom, but she was old too. The young boy was maturing faster than he ought to, but he had an old soul and weathered the realities of life well.
He curled tighter into the fur he called a bed, he had yet to move out of the family den yet. One day soon, maybe once he felt like he’d found some direction. The boy sighed heavily and closed his eyes as sleep grabbed hold and dragged him to its depths. The scenery around him changed little, the same den, the same pack, but the season had changed. He didn’t realize he was dreaming and struggled to get to sleep in his sleep. Not realizing the presence that touched him.
