It had been some time since the boy had been in the South. His ventures since the disappearance of his brother and sister; and even perhaps his parents leaving him feeling distant and detached from the world. He had decided to return, as close to his former home as he could. The scents of Seracia now gone, replaced by others unknown had left him walking away from the former lands to here. The smell of salty air and the brine beneath his paws was different, but welcoming all the same. Finiarel wondered where his family was, they had been scattered. He thought about going to Ebony, to find his mother and father for it was the last place they had said they would be. Would they still be there? Or would his search be in vain? The dull sounds of the ocean nearby would do little to calm his thoughts, and in turn he would tune it out. His creme pelt reflected what little sun would break through the clouds above, his russet spots standing out against his pelt, making him visible from farther distances. The male would find a large rock, sitting atop it as his bright green eyes would stare out over the water. Low tide had set in, and he was sure that within a few hours, high tide would come...too bad it couldn't wash away the turmoil within.

Epiphron had been selfish. Truth be told, she'd never once suggested she was even selfless or even mildly altruistic, but she hadn't been there for her children. Some of them had left of their own accord, but in retrospect she knew she ought to have stopped them. Her youngest children had been capable of caring for themselves, but emotionally, she couldn't help but wonder if they were faring well. Were they capable of living on their own? Had some of them found packs, or were they still searching for where they belonged?

These thoughts made her miss her children, and she willed herself to look for them as she wandered. One step after another, she would search for them, her heart heavy as she pictured where they might be. The west seemed a reasonable place to begin, as they had been born and raised here. The nearby lands were heavy with the scent of the wolves that had taken over the Kingdom of Seracia, and she couldn't help the aching pain that wracked her heart. What would've happened had she never offered to marry Maverick in her sister's place? Would the Kingdom still stand as it once head? Slowly she shook her head, thoughts overtaken by a more familiar scent. Her son was nearby, or he had passed this area recently. Her stomach would turn, excitement bubbling up in her chest as she let her gaze dance over the horizon. The sea was close, she could tell by the salty scent that lingered here, and by the bitter cold winds that swept in.

Gingerly she raised her head to the sky, letting a call for him escape her lips. Was he close enough to hear her? She could only hope.

The appaloosa marked girl had recently been found by her mother, to her utter delight. She had been having a difficult time during the winter months on her own and finding her mother had likely saved her life. She had decided to follow her, knowing that with her mother's company she would survive the cold era. Her petite paws would follow after the matriarch, she was eager to see more of her family. Much time had passed since she'd seen any of them, they were practically adults now. How much had they changed?
Golden rimmed eyes would take in the gorgeous form of her mother as she slowed, the scent of Finiarel surrounding them. Again a slight nervousness would take hold of her, what had he been doing since she'd last seen him? Had he encountered any trouble during the winter? Her haunches would coil as her mother called for him, her own vocals would join briefly before she would wait for his hopeful answer.

There was not a moment that passed by in which he did not think of his children. He thought of their well being, how they fared now that he was apart from them - how he might never see some of them again. It pained him to be without them, but the thought of dragging them alongside him just to keep them close was far more painful. He had been given few choices as a child, and he would not deprive his own children of their rights to making their own decisions. He followed after Epiphron - truthfully not knowing where they were headed or why. It didn't matter anymore, she held the reigns that steered their lives. She had mentioned something about locating some of their children - to which he could offer no genuine protest, and so perhaps this was the first of their missions to find their offspring.

One had already returned to them, Isolde, and he could not be happier to have one of his own under his wing again. Another's scent was faint - but present. Finiarel. The dappled boy had always been close to Maverick's heart. The russet being echoed his wife's call - no matter how strained their relationship was now - for their son.

Ears would erect themselves, the sounds of those he had not heard in what seemed like forever would call him into the winds. He did not hesitate, did not wait a second longer. His head would turn towards the calls, body following suit as he rose to his feet and his legs would seem to automatically carry him forward. His heart pounding like a drum with each step he took. The sounds of the water fell behind him, the scents of those he had searched for swirling about him in the winds as he sought to find them. Hastily, he would throw his head back and send a howl, hoping that it truly was them and not some figment of his imagination. Vibrant green eyes would search, and the first figure he would see was the ever familiar form of his mother. He moved faster, tail beginning to wag as an excited whine would leave his throat like a dog who was happy to see his owner after a long time away. It was as he got closer, his tail was nearly smacking each side of his own hips before nearly tackling into her and nuzzling her all over. "MOM! It's really you!" He would lick her face, burying his head in the fur on her neck. He had missed her scent, her touch, her voice.

He would pull away briefly, catching sight of another familiar just behind her. His beloved sister Celeste whom he had grown up with. He sauntered over to her, tail wagging happily as he licked her muzzle as well. "Celeste! How ya' been?" He would greet happily, wondering what his sister had been up to as of late. Did she decide she wanted to be with her family after all? They had so many plans when they were younger, perhaps it had all changed? Last but not least, his father would trail behind them. Finiarel pulled away to stand before him, tail slowing in it's excited wagging as he tried to calm himself before his father. Tentatively, he reached forward and nuzzled him as well. Whispering that he missed him too before stepping back and looking at each in turn. "Where's Caeto?"

.ooc. Isolde replaced Celeste so that being never existed, Iso left the family at about 6 months old

She would hear her father's voice join in with her and her mother, they would call in unison for her brother. She had not seen him in so long, how had he fared? Was he now as big as father? Had he even missed her while she was away? Not long after the call she would hear him howl back, letting them know that he had heard them and he was coming. She would dance where she stood, trying to be patient as she finally caught sight of her litter mate. He would rush forward and embrace their mother first, just like he should. Then he would turn to her, the excitement she had been feeling showing vibrantly in his own form.
She would wag her tail and prance towards him, her tongue offering him all of the kisses she had missed over the last few long months. "Isolde! How ya' been?" She would whine, the excitement she'd built up too much to allow even words to leave her lips. Before she could calm enough to answer he would pull away, moving on to their father. Tail would still wag excitedly as she let herself press against Epiphron's side once more.
