It had been seasons since Tyrian had seen Rhythm. He still wasn't pleased with her choice of retirement places, but it wasn't like he could change that. She was her own person. He knew that and respected her enough to let her be. Tyrian had been meaning to visit. It was fair to say he'd been hurt over her decision for awhile and that in part was what had kept him away, but seeing his dad everyday impressed upon him how little time he had left with the elderly wolves who had raised him and he wanted to make the best of it.
Tyrian stopped outside of Abaven land and absently began to wander along the border. He kept his distance from it but remained parallel to it. If he got within sniffing distance he would owe Theory a visit. He wouldn't mind seeing his niece again, but today was not the day for that. Today he wished to see Rhythm.
After awhile he picked a place and seated himself. He had no idea where Rhythm might den and he hoped he'd picked a central enough location that she wouldn't have to travel far. Tyrian remembered very clearly how much her joints pained her. Carefully to imply no urgency - the last thing he wanted was for her to think his father had kicked it - Tyrian howled for his auntie.

When she finally heard that familiar voice Rhythm felt her heart swell. She had found her place here in Abaven, but part of her would always reside with Fireside and the wolves she left there. Rhythm made herself get up off the warm furs, summer was right around the corner and hopefully it would knock the chill from her bones. A bit of exercise would hopefully do the same.
Tyrian didn’t sound like he was too far from Abaven’s border, the old woman followed a well worn trail with Feather close in the air. The sparrow chirped lightly and followed her to where the boy, or young man now, waited for her. Rhythm wore a huge grin, happy to have the visit. Coming to him was getting difficult.
Without hesitation the silver marked woman aimed to collide into a big bear hug.

It was so good to see her. Rhythm may not have been able to see him but Tyrian lit up when he saw her. As he padded towards her he noted how well she looked. She ran smack into his chest and threw her arms around him and, finding her to be very light, Tyrian was able to throw an arm across her shoulders without compromising his balance. The feeling of frailty wasn't lost on him. It was interesting how differently wolves aged. His father had thinned out over the years, but somehow remained a wiry, upright man. Unless you saw him rise in the morning it would be difficult to correctly assess his age beyond a generic 'old'.
"I've missed you," he admitted in a soft voice. That was the extent of what he was willing to admit on that front. Anything more would have felt a bit emasculating, but in truth Tyrian had missed her terribly. He hadn't realized quite how much until now when his heart had soared at the sight of her. "You look well, auntie. Really good. I take it Abaven's been treating you well? No more fires or raids or any other bullshit, I hope?"
