The yearling found himself wandering again, his paws carrying him closer to Abaven once more. He couldn’t get his friend Motif out of his head. After she’d slept beside him that night he’d seen her, and how she’d been so kind to make sure he made it home. Plus they were friends, she was easily the closest friend he had. Being with her made him not feel so lonely without his dad. Motif made him feel brave above all else. Like he could do anything with her beside him. He loved the feeling of courage it gave him.

He didn’t lose his thought of her as he walked, finding himself again at the lake. With spring nearly turned to summer the air was filled with lightning bugs. There were blooms in the trees and wild flowers scattered everywhere. The silver marked boy leaned back onto his haunches and wished immediately his friend was here to watch with him. Mercury eyes lifted to the heavens in time to see a shooting star race over the cosmos. ”I wish Motif was here to see this.” Océan wished softly.

“To see what?” she asked softly, appearing behind him. She had been making her way to the lake for the very same reason he had. Somehow, this seemed like the place to find him when she went looking. She had been working on her fighting skills, and well she was still nervous about falling into the type of slaver trap she had the first time, there was a little more confidence in her step. Or maybe that was just because Ocean was before her, and joy made her confident. She continued forward, settling in beside him, and wrapping her tail about his hunches. Leaning slightly against his side, and looking up at the stars. What had he seen, just before she had found him? "Motif"

Like the stars heard him the young woman appeared as he asked. The young boy brightened at the sight of his friend. With a grin and wag of his tail Océan leaned over to make room for Motif beside him before he explained. She got comfortable easily and he leaned against her as well. They fit together perfectly he thought. Two peas in a pod. ”There’s shooting stars,” he told her as he looked to the sky again. This time it was better, Motif warmed his side and his heart. He grinned as he looked up into the sky. ”I’m so glad you came tonight.” He told her quietly as he returned his silver gaze back to her bright eyes. The sky couldn’t much compare to being reunited with her.
