It was with Meili?s passing that he knew that he could not stay here. Would not stay here. As much as Arwel loved Valhalla, and how much he trusted it?s members, respected it?s alphess, with his sister?s passing Arwel knew now that he was not going to be able to stay here. The place he had found as a home was now hollow, empty, and he felt so very, very numb. He felt partially to blame for Meili?s death. Had he been more attentive, as he should have been, then perhaps she would not have died... Or at least not in such a way. The sight haunted him... Even the next day. After her burial Arwel had stayed by the grave in a silent vigil, remembering what he could about their childhood together, the times he cherished. There was nothing he could do to bring her back, and honestly Valhalla felt so... Empty without her. Even with so many faces... He felt alone here.

Arwel would tilt his head back, calling for Erani with a low call. Beside him was a rabbit, the last bit of prey he would ever catch here. He hoped Erani wouldn?t mind him taking it with him for Emily, but he knew he had to check on her as well, praying that he wasn?t too late for her a well. If he wasn?t... He would be able to start a new life with her he hoped. A new pack... Together... If he wasn?t a curse to be around.

A huge sigh would heave from Arwel?s jaws, gaze downcast as he waited for the alphess. He would close his eyes, grief written on his features. Losing a packmate had been hard... But the crushing weight of losing Meili... His sister... Was almost too much to bear.
