Who the hell can see forever?
They left the bay and traveled northwest into a land that was surprisingly more arid. The most notable thing were the strange, unnatural trees growing out of the ground here. The branches didn't fan out like normal trees and instead seemed to clump together as they grew toward the sky. The tops bore green, needle-like leaves. "Whoa, I've never seen trees like this before." She reached out and sniffed at one before turning her attention to the sky.
It was getting late, the sun starting it's downward track, glowing golden in the hazy sky that was overcast with a thin layer of clouds. It cast a strange, dull golden light across the land that added to its eeriness.

Ouse Boann
Orange eyes looked upward, the white woman's neck craning as she stared up at the strange, tall trees. "Oh, I've never seen these before either." There was a strange smell in the air and Ouse moved closer to one of the trees. Her nose wiggled gently as she sniffed the bark. It was acrid, like some strange brand of pine. She knew pine, but she didn't know these. Pep in her step, Ouse caught up with Jynn. The pair of leggy ladies picked their way through the odd landscape. As the sun was setting it did indeed cast a golden light over the land, making the tops of the trees look as though they were on fire. "What do you think they call these things? Are they some sort of pine? They smell a bit like pine, eh?" "Speech" |

Who the hell can see forever?
Jynn nodded as she sniffed at the nearest tree. "Yea, maybe some sort of weird pine. I wonder if they always grow this way or it's something to do with the earth they're trying to grow in."
There was no breeze and the air seemed particularly hot, but no doubt once the sun went down it would grow swiftly cooler. Jynn wondered if they should try and find a place to bed down for the night or keep going?
She turned her attention back to the tree and eyed the strange, smooth bark for a moment before stretching up one of the trees, her long legs allowing her to get a closer look at the branches. As she did her claws sank into the tree bark so she could help steady herself. At that moment a strange red substance that reminded her of blood started to ooze out. She stumbled back in surprise. "Ah! The tree is bleeding!"

With winter still grasping onto Auster, Natha figured she'd take a trip down to the southern continent to do some exploring. The summer months in Auster were unbearable for her. A lynx with such a thick coat was not met for the heat of a tropical continent in her opinion. Though perhaps it was that she didn't venture to the right areas. Today she found herself working through a grove of bizzare trees. She didn't like at all the way they looked but she did decide that she just had to climb up one of them. Her legs coiled beneath her and she sprang up into the nearest tree, her claws digging into its flesh as she climbed up toward the top. Interestingly enough a strange red sap oozed from the tree where her claws punctured the bark, an awful lot like blood.

Who the hell can see forever?
In the distance there were dull gray mountains, fairly short, and she wondered if they were really just big hills full of more of these strange trees. Below her paws the earth was brown and dry. Bits of brown and golden plants and shrubs burst from the ground here and there.
Jynn glanced at the sky once more, noting the position of the clouds. They were thin and more streaky. She doubted it would rain that night and likely even if they clouds bore rain they'd dump it well before reaching the arid landscape. She was getting wary of this land and started heading for the edge of the territory, eager to move on.
