She had come to accept it; her mother was gone. Just like Pegasus… And now, through her wandering, the young female wasn't sure what had become of Cel, her other father… and it bothered her. She had barely reconnected with her family before sneaking off again, a murmured apology as she went to find her lost parents.
But Philomena wasn't coming back.
She knew that now.
But what Meme had found in her travels were companions part of her new chapter in life. The young female moved with more confidence than before, a strong looking serious faced jackal at her side and quite a… round… raccoon following after her.
"Mem, do you think we could stop for a snack yet?" The coon complained in a high pitched, womanly voice.
"Gods above Bertha you just ate when the sun was at it's zenith! It's barely moved since then!" The jackal shot the creamy coon a scowl. "Surely you can't be serious?"
Bertha scoffed. "Of course I am! I'm not called FAT Bertha for nothing, you mutt!"
Memento Mori shook her head as she kept walking. She was used to the two of them bantering; it was their norm. But it made her glad to know she had their companionship. She was stronger than before, and come what may, she wasn't going to give up. She couldn't. She would not break.
Pale eyes widened as she wandered closer to the edge of the territory of Sunset Falls; hadn't her uncle shown her this place before they went back to Auster?
Ears flicked back as she slowed down with a thoughtful frown on her face.
"Hmm…" A hum fell from her lips and caught the attention of the jackal.
"What is it, Mem?"
"I caught my uncle's scent, Jacques… but…"
"But?"
"Idiot… use your nose." Bertha waddled up between them and thrust her nose forward as if pointing.
"A pack lives here."
Memento Mori blinked and furrowed her brow in confusion. Maybe her family had decided to join a pack rather than make one…? She shifted a little and flicked an ear back in thought.
It couldn't hurt… to see who lived here… Right?
Especially if her uncle really was residing here. Without another thought Memento tilted her head back and called to the alpha. That would be the quickest way to get her answers.

The calls continued to come. Were there really so many that were waiting for homes? Packs weren't terribly hard to put together, but then she had experience with this. Lots of experience. Big paws led the woman to the back end border of the falls. She spied a tall, but not yet fully grown girl standing there, waiting. Coming forward, the maned woman stopped, black ears flicking forward. She paid no mind to the smaller creatures running about. There was a lot of work to be done and Resin was rather tired. These were the responsibilities of a leader though. She didn't recognize the girl, nor did she recognize her scent. Was she another looking for sanctuary or did she want something else? The woman fixed her singular golden gaze upon the girl. "I am Resin, Aegis of The Hallows. What do you require?" It was formal, but that was how she was. The giantess wasn't very personable until later on down the line. A border meeting was business, and so she would be all business. "Speech" |

A woman was to answer her call.
As she approached Memento focused her gaze on the older, scarred creature with curious pale eyes. The woman was not one she recognized, no, but by how she carried herself it left little question in the fact that this woman was a figure with authority. Memento looked upon her curiously, ears perked forward as she wondered for a brief moment how she had gotten her scars…
...and was reminded that she, too, had scarring thanks to a stupid decision…
Bertha yawned as the giantess spoke, clearly less interested in the matters going on, whereas Jacques was much more keen and focused, guarded as he watched the female as she introduced herself.
“I am Memento Mori Lore.” The female introduced.
“I noticed my uncle’s scent about… and I was curious if he had joined this pack or if he had simply passed through here.” Her pale gaze shifted to meet the woman’s gaze. “His name is Ulric Adravendi.” The female canted her head to the side. “...because if he has… I’d be interested in hearing more about… The Hallows… too.” Her voice became more broken, brow furrowed… this wasn’t the type of talk she was used to… at all.

Unless ICly stated otherwise assume Memento Mori's companions, Jacques and Rein, are not with her.

The girl gave her full name and Resin accepted it with a nod. She waited until the younger wolf got to the heart of the matter. Ah, so she smelled family here. Who knew which of the new wolves was related to her? Eventually the girl named Ulric and again, Resin nodded. "He's not here, but he will be soon." The woman's haunches folded and she sat. "I assume you are one of the nieces that he told me might be coming with him." She didn't know the names of the nieces or the name of his mate. She only knew that she had agreed upon them entering her pack.
Two jackals burst from the brush. He had a bird in his mouth and She trotted along behind him. They were enjoying their freedom after being tied down with pups. This new home seemed to agree with them. He huffed, eyeing the girls jackal warily before they crossed the clearing and began heading down the falls towards the springs. She had only had eyes for the bird.
"Will you be joining your uncle here?" The woman brought her gaze back to the young wolf. She had made promises that his family could join, but it would be up to them to keep their place. "Each wolf here must pull their weight. All are required to patrol and contribute with whatever skills they have." Resin wouldn't allow freeloaders, no matter what ties they had. If a wolf began to slack, they would be removed. It was simple as that. There was no room for laziness. Laziness wasted resources that could be better used on one more worthy.
