Indigo cautiously made his way to the border of the Hallows. Though Sirius wasn’t exactly eager for his son to branch out he’d reluctantly allowed this. Indy had no doubt that his mother had much to do with that decision. He was thankful to her, he wasn’t sure if he’d have been able to convince his protective father otherwise. The boy took a deep breath and surged forward, he tried to hold his head up and adorn the mask that Aslatiel wore so well. Hiding his emotions were hard, but he furrowed his brows and steeled himself.

The large boy quietly stopped at the edge of Armada’s lands and peered into the territory of the Hallows. Was he certain of this decision? He would be leaving Aslatiel and his family. His heart ached, but he knew Iolaire had nudged him in the right direction. He took in a huge breath and let it out with a heavy sigh. Indigo took in a few more calculated breaths before he called out for Resin to join him here.

Resin was more than a little surprised to hear the call of Indigo. She rose from her place beside Tamsyn and their sleeping brood and moved out of the den. Giving her thick coat a shake, she moved off in the direction from where the call came. It didn't take her long to locate the brightly furred form of Indigo, her adopted grandson. "Indigo," the big fae greeted before moving forward and pulling the boy into an embrace. She loved the purple boy just as she loved his siblings. It was good to see him.

Settling back, Resin's haunches folded as she seated herself. The brow above her missing eye arched slightly. "What brings you to The Hallows?" It wasn't that he was unwelcome, the opposite, really. It was simply a surprise. He was the last of them that she would have expected.

His tail swayed at his hips as he waited patiently. He hadn’t spent as much time in his grandmother’s presence as he had Iolaire. Though he knew his siblings had, he’d always been much more quiet and withdrawn. Especially compared to the big bright personalities of his littermates. He was so withdrawn he’d refrained from meeting his newest siblings all together. Was he scared? Was he afraid to see how his parents were with the new pups compared to he and his siblings? What if two of them felt like he and Asla… He shut his eyes tightly as his chest clenched.

Then his name was on the air. The strong voice of Resin was quickly followed up by her imposing presence. Indigo was huge, massive, but he still felt small compared to the grizzled warrior. He’d opened his eyes to take her in as she settled down before him, questioning his appearance. Indigo took a deep breath, wondering how deep he should get into everything. ”I want to join.” He said simply at first, his dark ears resting against his skull. ”For a few reasons.” If she pressed he’d tell her, but for now he’d keep his reasoning to himself.

Warning: Indigo should be considered a Mature Character.

It was obvious from his stance and demeanor that there was something wrong. Resin's brow furrowed as he spoke cryptically. Reasons? More than one? She wondered what they might be, but she wouldn't pry unless he wished to share. There was one important key factor though. "Are you in trouble? Does your father know you're here to join The Hallows?" If Indy had run away, she would have to send him back. If permission had been given, he would be welcome in The Hallows with open arms. They could surely use his skills as a gardener and healer. With Meadow having disappeared again, healers were in short supply.

”Are you in trouble?” Indigo tried not to look guilty as he shook his head no. ”No. I’m… I’m trying to stay out of trouble.” His ears pressed closer to his skull. He wasn’t ashamed of how he felt, despite what his father thought. ”He knows, I’ve got permission.” He assured her, but the silence between them was enough to bring forth more information. Iolaire had been completely understanding, what would make her mother any different? He looked back up to her, his bright blue eyes troubled. Indigo took in a steadying breath and lifted his head slightly. ”I love my sister.” He confessed boldly. ”My father won’t see us together, and…” He pressed his eyes shut as he refrained from the next part. They couldn’t be together, and coming here to the Hallows would hopefully relieve some of the pressure he felt. He shook his head again and sighed softly.

Indigo was adamant that he was trying to stay out of trouble, but she knew that wasn't the whole of it. One so young shouldn't be under so much stress, but it was there on his face. At the moment, the yearling looked old. He said that he had his fathers permission and that was enough for the Aegis, but he continued, stating the true reason why he was here. She didn't need to hear any more. She understood. Where she and Iolaire came from, this wasn't an odd occurrence. It was generally accepted. In this land things were very different. Or at least they had been in the Armada.

The giantess gave a single nod. "Welcome to The Hallows." She wouldn't deny him this, especially since he was trying to behave himself for the sake of his father. If Aslatiel came to visit though, Resin wouldn't keep them apart. It wasn't her duty. She wasn't their parent. Rising, the big fae motioned for the boy to enter the territory. "Pack members make their dens up here on the falls. Visitors have dens down below at the springs." She treated him as she would any other wolf joining the pack. "I expect you to work hard to boost your skills. You're a healer, right?" She cast him a sidelong glance. "The Hallows is a place of healing. Your skills in healing and gardening will be useful and much needed. Do you have any questions?"

Indigo told his mother that the reason he was so sad and wanted so badly to join the Hallows was to follow Meadow. While that hadn’t been a lie the reasoning was so much deeper than something so simple. He couldn’t tell her or his father that he still harbored these intense feelings deep inside. Thankfully Resin wouldn’t press him, she accepted what he said and with little effort the old warrior invited him into the Hallows.

She offered where he could make his den and Indy wouldn’t forget about Rue. She needed healers, and even if his training wasn’t complete he’d get there soon enough. ”Yes, I will offer what knowledge i have.” She needed him to work hard but he wasn’t afraid of that. ”Resin,” He started quietly, having no problem with anything she said. ”I have a friend I’d like to bring. Her name is Rue and… She makes it easier.” He said quietly as he followed her over the border.

Indigo promised to work hard and that was all that she required. Not only was he a healer, but she knew that he possessed some battle skill as well. Two sides of the coin, so to speak. He would be a worthy and welcome member of the pack. Different ends of the spectrum possessed a different understanding of both war and healing.

As Indy hesitantly asked after a friend of his, then went on to say that it was a female and that she made things easier, Resin's brow arched. How easy did he mean? She wouldn't have any more litters within her borders. They were young, but there were flukes. After a time, the big woman nodded. "I'll allow her if you can present her, but I warn you, Indigo: there will be no litters here." She was willing to meet the girl. Resin didn't know if Indigo's hormones were already taking him in the lustful direction. She only assumed so because he spoke of loving Aslatiel.

Indigo would do whatever Resin asked of him without complaint or hesitation. He was at her beck and call now, and he was sure that she would keep him busy enough that he wouldn’t even have the time to wallow in his sadness. He’d never ever forget his feelings for Aslatiel or their agreement and goals they had for the future. For now his waking conscience would focus on his new pack.

For a moment he was worried that he wouldn’t be allowed to bring his best friend with him. He wanted and needed Rue so he didn’t feel so alone. After a moment Resin spoke and the words astounded him to the point of freezing him with his eyes wide open. Rue would be allowed to come with him, but Resin warned bluntly they could not make any children. Indigo’s thoughts hadn’t even touched on future offspring, he was having trouble growing up himself without thinking about all that. Rue wouldn’t want to have children with him anyway. Would she?

Indigo shook his head borderline violently. ”No.” He was quite eloquent today. ”No litters here.” He assured her as his voice cracked with his emotion. He wasn’t sure if he’d ever be ready for children. He shook himself again before he lifted his head and called for his best friend.

Oh, but she was nervous! She'd never been part of a pack before. She'd never even been near or seen such a large group of wolves before. What was going to happen?! Rue could only hope that Indigo would keep her safe. She would cling to him like sap, she was sure. He assured her that this pack was run by his grandmother, but still... weren't old wolves mean? Or stern at the least. Butterflies cycloned around in the spotted girls belly and when the call came, she almost fainted.

Bobbed tail tucked tight against her rump, the nervous young lady padded forth into the light and almost keeled over. His grandmother was huge and imposing. The scars on her face were terrifying and the missing eye...? Rue swallowed hard and almost debased herself before the grey woman, refusing to meet her gaze. Where was she even supposed to look? "He-hello..." it was all that she could manage. Suddenly her throat had gone incredibly dry. She wanted to sink into Indigo's purple coat. She wanted to disappear. She wanted anything other than the womans cold yellow eye on her.

Indigo assured her that there would be no pups and seemed taken aback by the idea. That was good. It proved that he wasn't thinking intimately about the girl at all. The maned lady merely nodded in acceptance, taking his word. He then called for his friend and Resin waited, wondering just what sort of friend he was bringing her. In the end, she was disappointed.

A cowering little jackal covered in spots managed to make her limbs move so that she could slink close to them. The girl wouldn't meet Resin's gaze. The Aegis merely raised a brow as she looked back to Indigo. Perhaps he could explain this strange behavior. Was this his friend or would she be a patient? The girl managed a weak hello and it took everything in the woman to make her gravelly voice a little softer. "I am Resin, Aegis of The Hallows. Indigo tells me that you wish to join this pack. I'll allow it simply because he asked, but there are rules." Even though the girl wouldn't look at her, Resin looked hard upon the top of her little brown head. "Everyone contributes. Everyone works hard to advance in their chosen skills." Submissive or not, those were the requirements. Percy had issues as well, but she was working hard and was contributing quite a bit. There was no reason that this little puddle of deer-wolf couldn't do the same.

Indigo was very much aware of how nervous and scared Rue was going to be at this meeting, and true to his prediction she approached the pair of them timidly. Indy watched his adopted grandmother closely. He was supportive of his friend though and with a dark muzzle he gently nudged her shoulder and leaned against her. Resin seemed suspicious, and questioned him silently as she laid out the rules for the little deer-like girl.

”She’s never been in a pack before,” he explained softly as he nudged her encouragingly with his shoulder. ”I’ll teach her.” Indigo promised as he looked down at her with bright blue eyes. He wasn’t lying when he said that Rue was a distraction and she would be his project. Indigo would protect her and shelter her until she could accept that the pack wasn’t interested in harming her. She would be safe and protected here and he hoped he would see her flourish in the coming seasons. It was something to look forward to and work towards as he tried to keep Aslatiel from his mind.
