Poem loped forward with a spring in her step, despite not making their vows with witnesses Poem considered herself married. She and her husband returned to Abaven late in the evening and after such an exciting time out with Sparhawk over the last week or so they had been eager to get back to the den they’d restored together. Poem thought she’d sept for about two days afterwards but around noon the next day she was eager to get prepared. She’d told no one but Theory what had happened while they were gone, but she was eager to surprise everyone with a feast.

With mostly the help of her companion, since she asked Sparhawk to work on his own tasks, she eventually would gather enough meat to feed the whole pack and then some that night. Despite the winter chill she was greeted with abundance, as though fate wished to celebrate with her as well. She wore a smile on her face as she worked, an expression that hadn’t left her since she’d laid eyes on Sparhawk that night. She was married to the love of her life, and she wished to share that joy now with her family.

Her husband helped her to put up the finishing touches and she hoped Theory had asked everyone to come. Their dinner was laid out over some of the massive boulders that were almost table like near the rapids. There was a fresh snow covering everything and peace and quiet ruled Abaven. Poem’s heart beat excitedly in her chest as she found Sparhawk’s side and waited for their guests.

As she grew older Ruin pulled further away from her family, lingering on the edge of the Abaven as she counted down the days. She didn't hate it here, far from it, but the peace and quiet they all clung to so tightly just wasn't her scene. She felt as though she was being held back by a short leash, her true potential caged. Sure, she had her little games and tricks but they were barely enough to take off the edge. She wanted more and something like that could never be found when she was surrounded by family, all soft and warm and safe. But she had to be patient, as funny as the thought was she knew her Mother would order some one to sit on her if she tried to slip away too soon. Ruin wasn't very patient but she supposed, at a push, she could make do with what she had, for now.

On that note, Ruin initially hadn't planned on showing up to her big sis Poem's bash, but the prospect of free food was enough to draw Ruin out of the thicket. Trotting along, still wearing her snazzy new sunglasses of course, it seemed as though had arrived fashionably early. She knew her sister had a new man and they'd gotten together, as adults seemed to do, but as for the details she wasn't exactly certain. Perhaps now would be a good time to shove her muzzle in where it didn't belong. Lyre let out a caw from up above as if he could sense trouble brewing, well too bad she'd never let him stop her before and that wouldn't change now.

Heading right over to the buffet, Ruin threw a look over her shoulder, clearly eager to tuck in.

"I don't gotta wait do I?"

Everything was perfect, though not as perfect as his new wife. The pair had set up this reception for Poems family and friends to share in their good news. Poem had hunted a bit and Sparhawk had lugged other things to the designated spot beside the rapids. He wasn't sure how many wolves would show up, but it didn't really matter. He and Poem were together and honestly, his wife was the only thing on his mind.

More than once while they were working around one another, he would scoop her to him and give her a kiss. Their night together after sharing their vows had been one that he would never forget. He was eager for a repeat performance, but they definitely couldn't do it out here in the open. Not with family coming, anyway.

As Poem sat beside him, the redwood man wrapped a thick leg around her, pulling her close. He placed a chaste kiss upon her forehead and together they waited. One of his wife's younger siblings was the first to show. She was a grumpy little thing and asked if she had to wait. The striped brute chuckled and spoke in his low, accented tones. No, no waiting. You eat. If that would keep the girl happy, then she could eat. He wasn't a stickler for protocol anyway. If the kid was hungry. The kid would eat.

Sparhawk -- Poem
Sparhawk has a very heavy Russian accent. Forgive his bad grammar.
