Navigation Random Event
Northern Boreas is no stranger to snow, but a sudden blizzard has struck the north, covering it in snow - up to two feet, in some places! Few places have been spared, and as you navigate the Red Forest you begin to notice that the snow drifts here are uneven and dangerous, accumulating higher in spots where the branches are thinnest overhead. As the sun begins to set you realize navigating this forest is quite dangerous, though you've gone too far to turn back now that the daylight is waning. The forest is eerily silent, dampened by the snowfall, and in the distance you swear you hear an ominous, almost otherworldly creaking.. better get moving!

Lachlan didn’t often get very far from Fireside these days, the unspeakable draw he felt towards its king was the most likely explanation. Tyrian held back no expense in impressing him either. The young red marked man traveled much further north than he ever intended. Dead set on finding some hardy sheep to bring back for Tyrian’s flock. Of course with his newness to farming and well sheep in general he had little idea he wouldn’t be finding any lambs this time of year. So he found himself in the forest, surrounded by snow.
The Valentine had always been quite the explorer, and he took in the massive drifts and crazy valleys between the trees as an adventure. He had a confidence in his abilities that had only blossomed in the last year. He wasn’t foolish, but he knew he could make it out of something like this. Besides, he was determined to make it back to Tyrian’s warm embrace. Besides the crazy snow storm his paws were near frozen.
The medium statured boy made it to the top of a drift and could suddenly see out over the forest, it was quiet a calm and he had a long way to the other side.

A shiver ricocheted down Hanako's spine as she slogged her way through the snow. She was no stranger to the cold nor did she particularly mind this time of year, but this was awful! Had she been smart she would have stuck around down south where the snow wasn't nearly as deep but of course she'd gone a wandering, even if only to escape the mounting pile of worries she'd left behind. Out of the frying pan and into the fire, except much much much colder. She couldn't even say that she was walking, it was closer to swimming with less grace and far more aimless thrashing. But despite the biting cold that enveloped her she pushed on, barely making out the pale shape of a white wolf up ahead standing atop a drift and let out a soft bark as though to ask for a bit of help. She certainly needed it, if she didn't want to turn into a Hana-popsicle.

While the princess didn't have much reason to be this far north, trudging around in the snow like a snowbeast, there wasn't much reason she shouldn't be up here either. He wanderings had taken her much farther than she would have liked to travel, but there wasn't much to do in the life of a loner, so why not explore? Had she known that in doing so she would've found herself buried up to her elbows in snow, she definitely would have stuck to the more southern areas.
She stuck out like a sore thumb amongst all the white snow, purple and pinks glaringly obvious against the pristine backdrop. A sudden bark caught her attention, casting her blue gaze over to a spotted wolf and another mostly white wolf atop a snowdrift. Wondering what they were doing, Nebula set off in their direction to be nosy.

From Lachlan’s vantage he could see miles and miles of snow and trees. Darkness was beginning to fall and his sense of sight would not be quite as useful. He’d take what he could for now, he’d figure out south and just keep moving. He’d find somewhere familiar eventually. Lachlan went to do one more sweep with his pale gaze when he heard the bark from further down. A somewhat pale and marked she wolf called up to him as she floundered in the deep snow.
Lachlan’s snow shoe like feet helped him to navigate the drifts with relative ease, he’d only found a few placed where he’d had serious issues. This must have been soft, or she didn’t know what she was doing and was holding her toes too close together. Lachlan was careful not to descend quite yet, especially when another she wolf caught his attention. She almost reminded him of Jupiter, he was the only other wolf he knew to be so beautifully colored. He just hoped she was nicer.
Both ladies were bigger than he was, but maybe that aided in his ability to navigate the snow. ”Are either of you headed south?” Lach asked as his attention returned to the girl that was struggling. He tested the snow gently as he descended the drift to the side of Hanako, towards a well placed tree. ”Uh.. Swim? Over here?” He offered and waited, looking to the dire wolf to see if she would be joining them.

He made it look easy. Hanako let out a huff as she sunk into the snow, cursing herself once again for getting into this predicament. But at least she wasn't alone. Another wolf soon entered the scene and Hanako found herself somewhat reassured by the fact she wasn't the only wolf dumb enough to venture up this far north. They could all be dumb together, two white-ish and one purple, what a trio they made. It took a lot of effort on Hanako's part but with some kicking she managed to find her way back to her paws. Mimicking the strangers stance she stood with a wide gait, hardly elegant of graceful but it wasn't as if she had much of a choice right now.
"Yep. Not from these parts, I'm not sure if anyone is crazy enough to choose to live here. " Yet another shiver rolled through her, it wouldn't be long before her teeth started to chatter.

The one atop the snowdrift called out to them, and Nebula had to admit... she was a bit lost. She came here from the southeast, but for whatever reason kept traveling until she ended up up here. It was a horrible mistake, though with all the snow and the trees that look all to similar to one another, she couldn't make out which way she needed to be going. Maybe one of these other two wolves would know.
"Yes, I'm not sure how I got up here either. This is extremely unfavorable weather." Her lips pursed as she trudged through the snow towards the pair, her height giving her some amount of advantage in the depths of it. Approaching the two, she stopped a bit off and watched as the other female struggled to regain her stance. "Which way is south, exactly?" She asked as she looked around before turning back to the two others.

When he was younger Lachlan couldn’t sit still, as soon as he was old enough to leave Lirim’s borders he was out exploring the world. Snow was one of the world’s great wonders and he’d spent a lot of time playing in and learning it. He wasn’t an arctic wolf that was for sure, but he really enjoyed the snow. It was easy to ignore the cold when you were out in the thick of it like this. It seemed both of the she wolves were lost and at least one of them far out of their element. The orange marked she wolf looking like she might have frozen to death had she not been found.
”Look, you’re already doing better!” Lachlan tried to encourage her as he started heading south. ”Spread your toes a little more, balance your weight more evenly, and test your steps!” He tried to tell her as he demonstrated for her. Just to be sure, he looked back up to the sun. ”Rises in the east, sets in the west." He used a paw to project the two cardinals. He pointed, ”South is definitely this way.” Lachlan looked back to the pale she wolf to see if she needed anymore help before leading the way.

Hanako had to admit this guy knew what he was talking about, following his instructions she found walking a little easier. She watched on, ears perked, as the others talked back and forth and tried to gather their bearings. Yet again Hanako wished she took her adventures a little more serious, like that loner she'd met who walked around with a bag full of navigational supplies. Heck, if she had her shit together she wouldn't even be here in the first place but...that was neither here nor there. Surely the three of them would be able to work something out.
Her ears flicked back as a creaking reached her ears, just like those stairs she'd climbed in that terribly, nasty house. She couldn't see or smell any immediate danger but that foreboding feeling lingered all the same, not at all helped by the fact that the forest was already dead quiet. Nothing but their own voices to fill the silence. It was more than enough to put her on edge and she glanced between the others, wondering if they'd heard the groans on the wind.
"Mmm. So we should deffo get a move on. No time like the present right? "

Snow wasn't entirely unheard of by the princess, but she certainly wasnt used to it at this extent. Had it not been for her height, it would perhaps be a bit different for her when it came to trudging through this snow. She tried to listen to the advice the man was giving the smaller girl, spreading her toes so that she wouldn't sink so far down into it. It seemed to work just enough to keep her a few inches higher, which really helped a lot.
The creaking and groaning of the trees had gone ignored until she caught the girl looking between her and the man, and she was quick to agree. "Yes... yes we should definitely get out if this forest." She agreed and began heading in the direction that the man had figured.
