OOC: Any pack members can join this thread. Zaria will be dying in this post.

Shivers racking her body ruthless as her fever crept higher and higher. Blood still spilled from her eyes, though more freely than before. Her body couldn't even keep water down. She had accepted many things by now. First, Caeto would not be coming to her rescue, he would not be beside her during her last breath. Secondly, she was going to die. No cure had yet been found, and the plague had spread like wildfire. No savior would be coming for her. The girl would cough, blood spilling from her mouth.

She felt like she was on fire, yet freezing all at the same time. Pain wrapped around her like a s suffocating vice. This was the end. She would die of this plague, and everyone was helpless to stop it. From her den, her head would lift, a weak howl slipping out into the world. She didn't want to spend her last moments alone. But the mere act was exhausting, she would fall limp, eyes fluttering shut. Perhaps a nap would help.

The Heir of Arcanum would drift off into sleep, her breathing ragged. Ribs would rise and fall, the time in between each breathe growing longer and longer. Finally, she would move no more. The daughter of the Queen was dead, claimed by the plague that ravaged the land. Blood continued to flow from her eyes and mouth until her body was drained and she laid in a pool of blood. Her body would begin to cool, waiting patiently to be found.

He had fled from a battle... He had never fled from a battle before in his life and here he was just peacing out, turning tail and running like a coward. No... He had to go back. Cat was sick. Daeg and Neios were sick and he was the one fleeing. As soon as he was far enough away from the battle that he could no longer hear the sounds he would slow slightly, to a trot rather then a full out sprint. Still he held Basanti in his jaws, choosing not to say anything to her at this point. He would take her to Zaira and then return and help if needed. Yes. That was the best course of action and Zaira was the only one he had come to really trust with his daughter. She was family after all...

Ky took a right and turned towards Cat's daughters den but as he drew closer he would slow further. The male blinked, trying to sample the air around Basanti's scent and the scent of his own blood as it dripped steadily to the ground. Something was wrong... He lowered his head slowly, placing Basanti on the ground before taking a hesitant step forward. "Stay put." His voice was a deep rumble though he didn't spare her a glance, verdant gaze trained on the den as he slipped forward. He could hear her laboured breath, harsh and ragged. It didn't come evenly either instead it seemed like every so often her breath eluded her before she caught it again in a wheeze.

But no sooner did he step into the den did the sounds stop, her body expelling a last breath as blood continued to trickle from her ears and nose. He stood for a moment, staring at her body and praying she could gather her breath again but she didn't. She simply lay there limp, lifeless and he could do nothing? "Zaira?" He murmured as he reached forward to nose at her neck but no tensing of muscle greeting him, her he'd simply rolled back a bit before flopping back to its original position. She was gone?

She kept pace with Kylar easily, narrowed eyes trained ahead. It didn't take long for her realize where they were headed, Zaria's den. Kylar must have a plan. Every so often her gaze would drift to her daughter, who kept her verdant gaze trained expertly on the ground. Kylar would set down their daughter, and immediately the Queen stood over her, pinning the girl with a gaze of liquid fire. Jaws parted to speak, but Kylars muted voice caught her attention. it was then that she realized something was wrong, terribly wrong. It was quiet, far to quiet, Zaria would have heard them coming and would have acknowledged. The Queen watched as Kylar peered into the den, half of him disappearing inside.

She would leave Basanti, rushing towards the den entrance. "Move!" She would bark the command, pushing past the man before he even had a chance to react. She didn't care if she knocked him down or anything, just as long as he got out of her way. The stench of blood was strong, stronger than it should have been. Eyes frantically searched her daughters still body, desperate to believe this was just a hallucination. Creeping closer, blood would stick to her paws, a pitiful whine slipping from dark jaws.

Her silver crown would lower, nose pressing into the girls neck. "Zaria." Lyrics were soft, barely audible as the Queen collapsed beside her daughters body. Vision would blur with unshed head, her skull shaking back and forth in denial. Tears mixed the blood that blood that still trickled from her eyes. Her daughter was dead. Gone forever. There was no bringing her back. Her body would tremble, but not because of the fever this time, distress overwhelmed her, a choked sob filling the den. Her daughter died alone.

He was at a loss for what to do, what to say. He could smell Cat, she had arrived and probably stayed with Basanti but he refused to call out to her, refused to move even as he stood there studying the young girls form. But Cat was far from dull, she knew right away that something was up and immediately she as shoving forwards, barking at him to move. Numbly he would step to the side, stumbling slightly as she shoved into him and raced to her daughters still form. Their heiress was dead. Cat's daughter was dead... Just like Vixe if his dream was correct... But still he was numb, unfocused, staring down at Cat as blood continued to run down her face just as it had run down Zaria's. They were both sick. Would this take Cat's life too?

Numbly he would turn to look at Basanti, making sure she was staying out this time before slipping in behind Cat. She could lash out at him, fight him. Take any anger out on him that she wanted. Today had been one of the worst days a mother could experiance ever. Despite his still freely bleeding neck he didn't really care. He could handle it if only it would get her through this. "Cat... I'm so sorry..." He didn't know what else to say, didn't know how else to express how he was feeling because he knew for a fact that nothing he said could make it better. So he would simply lie there until she dismissed him or decided she was ready to bury the body.

She would stay there for what felt like an eternity. The Queen was unmoving, silently wallowing in her daughters death. Finally finding some strength, the Queen would rise. With a last look at her daughter, she would reach for the fallen girls scruff, muscles straining as she began to drag the body from the den, her intentions to give her child a proper burial. Tears dried against her silver cheeks, though the gems had lost their vibrancy. The Queen would move until she found a suitable spot. Setting down her daughter gently, she would turn away, forelimbs flying in flurry to begin digging. It needed to be deep.

It felt like hours would pass, she didn't care or notice if Kylar began to help her or not. But only when she was satisfied would she grab a hold of her daughter once more, position her ever so carefully. Muscles strained with effort, legs quivered, threatening to give away beneath her as she slowly lowered the fallen Heir into her final resting place. "My baby." Words were hushed, barely audible as a final look was given to her daughter. Mechanically she would begin to bury her, dirt clinging to silver fur, her nails slowly wearing down until they bled. The Queen wouldn't stop until her daughter was entirely buried.

Stepping back, the Queen remained silent for a few minutes, her gaze resting on the freshly buried grave. Silver crown tipped back, a mournful howl filling her ears. Only when her song was finished would she look at Kylar. "I don't want to be here, lets go." She would turn away from him, picking a frantic lope. She needed to make a stop, there was something she needed to do.
