Something had been wrong. So very, very wrong. Despite her still recovering condition Destruction had left the safety of the others. It was hard moving on her still healing leg, and she favored to keep it lifted off the ground, at a bit of a painful angle, though certainly better than pressing her weight down fully upon it as she kept going. Destruction didn?t know it, but the epidemic that had been spreading across Alacritia had claimed her as well. She walked along, fever rising within her body as the illness set in.

Destruction had noticed the blood tears first. How the fell so suddenly from her eyes. Fear for her friends, for Aiden, was what made the woman go off alone. She knew Aiden knew of herbs... But there was something different about this sickness. She could feel it rising in her gut... Mingling with the nausea that had passed through her. That nausea, sometime during her journey, had brought up the remains of her last meal. That was what, an hour ago? Two?

How much time had really passed? All she knew was she was moving on. Her vision blurred occasionally, but Destruction didn?t look back. Didn?t stop. No matter what feeling passed over her... She was trying to get as far away from them as she could. Her body was trembling some, remaining eye strained as she focused on the path ahead. She was at the beach, the sand shifting beneath her paws. Ears would twitch then, as a voice started to reach her ears.

?You and me in our playhouse...
Living in a veil,
We never need to go without.?

The voice... Faded, though growing closer... How sickeningly familiar it was. Destruction would come to a stop, shaking some as she looked around. Her vision was swimming the area around her leaking into it self, colors running into each other, as if everything was made of water. Her head was spinning, and, for a moment the woman was certain that she was going to be sick again. Her body gave a violent shake, hallucinations taking form all around her, warping her entire world, her entire state of consciousness. Yet the voice would continue singing.

?Memories bring no joy or peace...
We are alone...
...And all we need.?

The voice was feminine, a younger voice. Darkness edged it, shaping the world around her to it?s desires. The night sky edged with black, the ground giving way to the soulless color as well. Destruction?s large form trembled, head looking around for the singer of these strange words. It was growing closer... So familiar... It... It sounded...

She was sure she could place it... If only her head was pounding so much. This strange, familiar voice... Spoke of memories... Memories that brought no joy or peace. The words would come out choked, slurred, aloud. ?W-who are you...?? No answer... The unseen specter singing on.

?Tuning out of the poison...
Every waking day...
Intolerance to overcome..?

The world around her was starting to make changes again, the voice getting louder, clearer, closer. The black area in front of her was starting to change into a scene before her. Two black wolves, one an adult female, marked with red, and the male marked with white and gray. The male with red eyes, the female with silvery-white ones... And then, standing with them...

Destruction?s single eye would widen as she looked at the family. That pup... Was her. Smiling so brightly, tail wagging as she looked up to proud parents. Her... Her family. She would take a step forward, maw opening, trying to call out to them as the other voice went on, the song continuing, and changing the scene again... A reflection of memories, suppressed and all.

?Fortune?s won by the boys with the guns...?

Destruction?s remaining orb would widen with horror as a strange mist began to rise from the ground. It looked as red as blood, circling her, circling the vision of her family, though the hallucination looked so real, so tangible to the dark woman who watched as things played out.

Strangers began to appear from the darkness around the family, walking through the red mists with cruel smirks on their faces, an insane light in their eyes. The assassins... Their leader, a massive hulk of a male, would come to a stop before the family, a smirk on his face. There were no words said, just a motion with his muzzle towards the three before the assassins fell upon them.

?No!? Her scream would leave her, trying to rush forward, trying to save her parents, save herself, from a fate already written in stone. Destruction would stumble, gaze widened with horror as her parents were torn to shreds, her own small body tossed about as she tried to help them. The blood tears of the adult Destruction?s face falling as she watched on.

?Stop it... Please... Please... Leave them alone...? She was begging, pleading with the hallucinations. But the song went on, the figures and scene changing again.

?We are alone...
?...Nowhere to run.

It was just her then... Her body broken, though the pup was older now. She was covered in cuts and wounds... Torture breaking her spirit. The assassins were changing her, molding her into something darker, something evil. Destruction was shaking so heavily, unable to look away, unable to closer her eye. ?Enough... Enough please! Stop it!? Her ears pinned flat against her head, pain flaring as she tried to shift, her injured leg underneath her.

?Bernadette...
You are my liberty...
I celebrate the day, that you changed my history of...?

The hallucination of herself was changing again... There stood the wolf Destruction once was, a cruel smirk upon her face, evil in her eyes. The beast that was set free upon the world, brought out from the broken spirit of innocent child.

Forbidden Destruction.

The part of her past she wanted to forget. The part of her past she had tried to shut out, tried to black out. But her past, thanks to this sickness, was coming back to haunt her. To torture her mind in the fragile state that it was in. There would be no stopping the memories from playing out before her very eyes. Reminding Destruction of the monster she once was... That still slept within her very heart. The song continued on, and, with even more horror, Destruction realized now who that voice belonged to...

A younger version of herself.

?Life and death...
Will always lead you to love and regret...?

The scene would change, but much of it would remain... The blackness on the outer edges... The red mist... The scene itself was darker too. The hallucination of Forbbiden Destruction in a den, leaning over something. The sickening crunch of bones filled the air, and as much as Destruction wished to look away, she would shift her head instead, straining to see what her past self was consuming... Of what importance it held.

It was... A pup.

Destruction would gasp in horror, somehow managing to scrambling back onto her three legs. Some of the bite marks on her legs that were still in the scabbed process torn open again. Pain was filling her, among the horror and disgust at what she was seeing. Her children... She... She had more than one child. The woman shook her head back and forth wildly, refusing to accept that which was the truth.

?No... No... I... I didn?t... I wouldn?t... I...? Dillinger?s siblings... They had been...

Forbidden Destruction would turn towards her lighter counterpart now, the hallucinated, younger wolf stepping towards Des now, the song continuing to spill from ink black lips.

?But you have answers...
...and I have the key...
...For the door to Bernadette...

Destruction was stumbling back, but Forbbiden Destruction came on, stopping before her form. Looking at her with eyes that began to glow a bright blood red. The rest of the image shattered, as if a bunch of glass had just been broken around her. The pieces of the scene would drop into the blackness, the red mist rising up around them now. Destruction?s chest rose quickly, breaths coming out in a panic.

?Winding down your emotions...
Family and friends becoming ghosts to dream of...
And pass on...?

As Forbbiden Destruction kept singing, images of those she knew, presently in the past would appear around her. Some with sad faces, others with anger... Scarred... Torn... Bloodied. Her loved ones.

Her parents, Dillinger, Tahlia, Bane, Anais, Jakart, Nako, Loccian, Celeste, Rohini, Arian, even Aiden... And others she had grown close to as well. They were all here. All of their eyes focused on her. They were faded though... Almost translucent... Ghosts. Destruction would look around at them all, mouth opening to say something, anything to them, but no words would form.

?Time will erase every face, every name...
We are alone...
No one to blame...

One by one all of the wolves around them began snuffing out, their spirits disappearing. The blood tears would fall in larger drops, body trembling. Then, finally, she was left alone with her younger self. The hallucination looking at her with a sickening look of pleasure upon her face.

?Bernadette...
You are my liberty...
I celebrate the day, that you changed my history of...
Life and death...
Will always lead you to love and regret...

The words were starting to fade again, Destruction feeling her body shutting down. The woman would collapse to the ground, eye single orb finally been able to close, to shut away the horrific world around her. She welcomed the darkness that was starting to cover her body, the red mist moving over her form in an almost caressing manner.

Forbidden Destruction would lay behind the older version of herself, what she had become. Something no one else could see or feel, just seeing the dark woman collapsed alone upon the sand. But The hallucination would finish her song, laying her head across the semi-conscious fae?s form as the waters from the rising tide brushed against Destruction?s form with each wave that came.

?...But you have answers...
...and I have the key...
...To Bernadette...
