The willows offered more protection than the valley did, and he was grateful for the shelter of the trees that hung down as they reached for the ground. The willows were covered in snow, though the ground that sat beneath the covers of the trees was barely dusted with it and there were patches where the bare, frozen ground could be seen. He knew Spring wasn't too far off, but until then, he'd still have to be smart about hunting. He figured he would have some difficulty hunting bigger game on his own, but...he could build some traps to help. Before he set about looking for the materials he might need, he decided to do a bit of scouting to see what animals might be in the area first.
