Come help your princess escape the monstrous Cave Bear! This prehistoric bear stands about 6 feet tall at the shoulder and, when on its hind legs, stands almost 12 feet tall! Yikes! This is the bonus seasonal, so whoever participates will get +30 skill points to two of their chosen skills. First round ends on the 14th

Kali had heard the whisperings from the pack about how odd it was that spring still hadn’t arrived. According to them, the weather should have started warming and the snow should have started melting, but instead, the winter continued to rage on and they continued to gain several inches of snow seemingly every other day. On top of that, there had been mentions of strange creatures roaming around. Being so young, there were many creatures that the girl hadn’t seen for herself, but these seemed to be extra strange. Animals bigger than anything they’d ever seen, with teeth and horns thicker than her and a temper to match. But, Recluse had told them to be careful and to stay near the den whenever possible.

That day, however, she’d had enough of being good and staying by the den when her crazy siblings did whatever they wanted. Surely nothing bad would happen as long as she stayed inside their well kept borders anyways? The creatures couldn’t possibly be so stupid as to not understand what the pungent odor meant and the ferocious punishment they’d endure if they crossed. Which was why, when she came upon the biggest animal she’d ever seen in her entire heckin’ life, she could only stare in horror. It was easily 5...no 10 times the size of her, clad in brown fur and rippling muscles that told her it could definitely squish her just as easily as her mother had suggested. Its beady eyes looked at her and it opened its mouth to let out a roaring growl, showing off its teeth that could pop off her head like a daisy.

The snow beneath her yellowed a little bit

It took a step toward her and she took a step back, this process repeating until she felt her back hit one of the redbud trees. It got closer and she felt her heart hammering in her chest like a hummingbird. She was going to die, she couldn’t die! She was too young and far too pretty! Taking in a deep breath, the girl turned and took off at a spring as fast as her legs could take her toward the mountain where Mom had ensured her she’d be safe. She heard the creature bellow behind her, the sound seeming to shake the ground beneath her and she let out a panicked howl of her own for the wolves of Habari to come to the aid of their princess.

I JUST WANT A TASTE

He had been making his usual rounds around the border of the pack that day. Eraithus strode along with dignity, tail raised and a happy tune humming in the back of his throat. The merry male looked on past the scent markers, another season of being stuck being territory lands thanks to his unfortunate mistake within the pack. If he had behaved he would have been well on his way to training one of Recluse's pups. Maybe even closer to her. Eraithus had let his head become foggy with affection for the ghostly white alpha. He wanted to talk to her during the full moon, but it wasn't as if he only wanted to get to know the pups for his advantage. Misery was a bright young wolf, as did the rest of the litter look amazingly healthy and well. To be able to train one... that would have been his dream.

The wolf stopped suddenly, pressing his paws into the dirt before he lowered his nose. A sour smell entered his canals, opening his mouth to get a better scent of it his hackles suddenly raised in alarm. That was definitely the scent of a bear, panic pulsed through him turning his head to look to the inner workings of the territory. Eraithus didn't know this scent other than that it was a bear. What kind was a mystery but with young pups in the group that including Deathbelle's panic rose in him. It was when he heard Kali's howl that he understood the danger that the pack was actually in.

Eraithus was nearby, lucky for him, he took off after the howl. Only to see the massive creature that was currently bounding down the territory after the small pup. The bear was far bigger than he was! A small creature like Kali would not survive as much as a swipe from that beast. Anger bubbled up in him, the feeling and the need to protect her rose within his chest. Skyrocketting down the hill towards the bear he let out a ferocious bark. Picking up volume as his howl range out in case Kali's own had not reached their pack mates ears. Yes, Kali was heading towards the Mount Volkan territory.

"Kali keep running!" Eraithus called, he made an attempt to then nip at the massive bear's ankle. Hoping to draw the attention of the beast. At least he was light on his feet, he could make quick work of distracting the creature especially from the small pup. An injury, or even his own life, was worth giving for a bit of protection from Habari. Letting out another viscious bark, his jaws opened trying to gain purchase on the bears ankle one more time before he tried to draw it towards the Redbook nook's left section of the territory. They didn't need to kill it, although that would be ideal, but they needed it out of the territory and away from the Volcano at their heart.

The placid babe had been active all day, meandering around the skeletal trees and in her own winter wonderland. She could tell the seasons were changing, though it was still so cold. It was all that they were used to. She had yet to find out what summer was like, with the warmth against your skin. Carnage had yet to see the world, how different lands look... how weird other wolves could look... other packs! While Carnage often spent her time alone, she couldn't help but wonder what her siblings were getting up to. With little else to do Carnage would decide to go find Kali in one of her typical spots wondering if she wanted to play. The girl set off in a light jog and as she edged closer and closer something smelt... off. Carnage would stand tall and proud, her eyes wide and alert as her ears twitched to take in all the noises around her. It didn't take long to hear her sister's fears echo and it would send a shiver down her spine. Carnage leapt to the noise to try and get to her sister as quick as possible.

As she got their she would look at a horror as another man leapt to the rescue. Carnage remained high up on a slope as she watched, looking down on her sister. With impulse, Carnage would let out a growl and 'yip' as if to try and distract the bear from her sister. She had never seen one before and the girls jaws would drop. The girls were so young and it was easy to forget how weak they truly were in comparison to a fully grown wolf. With her adrenaline kicking in Carnage would Would keep her eyes on her sister watching the performance commence.
"Kali! Over here... Run!! " She would scream to her sister atop a small ledge where an old abandoned den lay near, they needed to get to safety. Hopefully the blue wolf distracted the bear enough so Kali could get to her sister... to safety. The pup would tense with suspense wondering if her sister would make it up to her on time. Carnage looked over her shoulder towards the abandoned den. It was small and narrow but would fit them both in and it was surrounded by overgrown shrubs. Would the blue wolf be able to distract the bear so Kali can get to safety?? The pups were competitive in all aspects and all had different qualities. Kali was well rounded and wanted to be just like their mother whil Carnage felt she would be more wreckless. But the last thing she wanted was to lose her sister completely to a monster.

Through her terror, Kali noted with disappointment that nobody was immediately rushing to her aid. The entire pack didn’t burst through the trees to defend their precious princess from the terrifying monster, willing to risk life and limb for their future leader. If she hadn’t been in the middle of running for her life she might have pouted a little. But, as it was, she was in no situation to have much more of a passing thought about it. A man’s voice called out to her to keep running and she was tempted to yell no shit over her shoulder, because what else could she do? She wasn’t an adult yet, her bark was literally worse than her bite that point and no matter how much she wished she could or acted like it, she would have to wait a few more years before claiming that adult title.

From above, she could see the small form of her sister safely perched upon a ledge. She called to her, her pale blue eyes wide with the same terror that the chocolate and gold-spun Klein felt. She tried to push herself even faster, but the bellowing roar that the beast released when the blue man bit into its ankles startled her. She tripped, body crashing and rolling in the snow and she felt a distinct throbbing sensation in her ankle, telling her she’d twisted it. Oh, what perfect timing.

Kali rolled to her paws, managing to throw herself to the side just in time as the monster crashed into where she’d just been. She shuddered to think of what might have happened if she hadn’t reacted so quickly. She took off again at a lame, hobbling run, another howl echoing from her jaws into the air calling for help because surely one man couldn’t take down a whole beast.

I JUST WANT A TASTE

He wasn't sure if he could do this alone, but that really wasn't something he could think about right now. Kali's trip was enough to send the large bear into a frenzy. Nearly getting her as it's massive paws almost the size of her entire body slammed onto the ground. She ran, Carnage calling her into the tree. However if Eraithus didn't do something and fast he wasn't even sure if Kali would make it. A shiver ran down his spine, fear gripping at his heart as it pounded against his chest. Eraithus couldn't avoid it, imagining the pups lifeless body and all because of him! Her own voice broke out again as Eraithus howled once more combining their voices together. Where were the rest of the pack? Would they notice not with the second call.

His eyes widened a little as his muscles moved underneath his pelt. It was risky but he didn't have a choice, picking up speed the wolf stopped suddenly in front of the bear. Causing the massive beast to rear on its back legs roaring at him. The rancid smell of it's breath overwhelmed the adult as he nearly gagged. Only barely jumping out of the way before the creature slammed its paws where he once was. Continuing its attack though the head swung teeth snapping as the jaws grabbed the tip of his ear. With the massive size of the bear it nearly tore his ear off.

In frustration he snapped, his teeth catching the bears nose before he took off again. The large beast yowled in anger as Eraithus tried to lead it to the right away from Kali and Carnage. Now that he had finally caught its attention he would hope it worked. Also that the rest of the pack would be showing up soon as it was clear that the frenzied beast was not afraid of one adult wolf and a couple of pups. "Damnit" he cursed with blood dripping down the side of his head. The tip of his torn ear burning as he was chased by the predator.

The girl would mutter repeatedly ' we will be safe, we will be safe.' as if some miracle would happen. Where was the entire pack? their calls echoed across the entire land. Carnage would breath heavily, her heart beating so fast she felt that it could explode. She had never felt like this before... She had felt happiness, anger, frustration... but never fear. Their mother had kept them warm and sheltered but now they grew older it was impossible to always keep an eye on them all. Carnage would remain hiding, hoping frantically that her sister would make it. Time felt like it was going so slow and before she knew it Carnage would hear a thud. Her sister did not make it. She cried in pain and with instinct ( if not stupidity) Carnage would leave her hiding spot. She would call out in desperation for the rest of the pack. Could one wolf take down such a large creature?

The blue man would try his very best to protect them and the bear roared with fury, she would see the bear swipe on him and before she knew it blood covered the pack mate. She would gasp in fear and she would go numb. Making a decision quickly, she couldnt have him die. She would run on the outskirts as fast as she could and would stay far away. She aimed to position behind the bear (still atleast 10 meters away) as if to distract it for Erathius to get a fatal blow. She was not at ground level, she would stay up on a ledge She would bark and growl continously hoping the noise would distract the bear for a split second. She was far too young to even attempt to attack the bear. Whatever the outcome, she would quickly run away to find covering, hoping that her sister would get away.

SHIBA KLEIN

Shiba had not been near enough to Redbud Nook to hear the initial cries for help. She had been off searching for some sign of plant life, medicinal herbs or not, she just wanted to see if there was any chance that this winter might finally release its grip over the land. There was no indication that she could find that it would happen any time soon. It would be a waiting game, and she would have to keep a close eye on her supplies. Luckily, she hadn’t had much need to use any of her stores aside from the trade she had made with the loners at the border, but there was no telling how much longer it would be before things would start to change for the better.

As she neared her den though, prepared to take a little while to rest after her fruitless search, a cry for help reached her. Multiple voices, two of which immediately had her running. Recluses children were in danger, and from what she could hear, it sounded like only one man was there to help. She couldn’t place the name of the blue hued individual who was there, but she had seen him at the pack meeting and was glad to see him there already aiding the children. It wasn’t the first time she’d faced a bear in this territory to help drive it off from a pup. Was it the same one? The bear that had threatened her nephew had fled after her brother arrived, even without them having to do much in the way of fighting, and she hoped her arrival would be enough to make this bear flee the packs lands as well.

She raced up behind the bear, letting out vicious snarls and growls, in the hopes that the sound of backup arriving would be viewed as too big of a threat to the large creature and that together, they would be able to drive it past the borders. She didn’t know if anyone else would come, but if they didn’t, she would do whatever it took to protect the pups of the pack.

"Speech."
