Sunshine where did you go?
The little black and gray girl sat just outside of her den with her head pressed against her front paws. Snow nipped at her nose as she watched the nook from inside her den. It really hadn't been long since Voodoo and her siblings, Fortune and Sorcerer, had opened their eyes and began roaming the den. Yet today was the day, the day she got to go play outside! Yet there was a problem, she had heard the adults talking about the weather. It was spring and yet all she had ever known was this cold. Winter was extending it's clutch to the territory and while she wasn't aware of what this actually meant she was curious to what it felt like for it to be warm!
Finally she shot up, her tiny paws scrambling on the melting snow in front of her. Voodoo felt a sensation of euphoria, the pup giving a giggle as she suddenly slid across the icy ground. With the sun just beginning to rise above the sky her energy was boundless! Voodoo didn't want to venture too far from the den, not unless she had her mothers permission of course. There was just so much adventure to be had! Her brain was whirling with the information soaking into her. Everything was so new and the sky above her felt so open. Is this what it felt like to be an adult?
After taking a deep breath Carnage would stride out in confidence, her crown raised high as she skipped to the stranger. " boo!!" She would shout, no quite knowing how best to greet other wolves, was that rude? She would giggle to herself wondering if the girl was even started. " I'm Carnage! Who're you?" She would call before aiming to circle the girl, taking in all of her features.
The girls ears pricked when she heard rustling against the grass. Her senses were still accute from when she couldn't see. It wasn't until the other girl had yelled out that Voodoo turned to her. Carnage had her crown raised high not afraid to introduce herself obviously. The black and gray wolf tilted her head a bit, Carnage was slightly bigger than her but not by much. After all the pup was already thick as it was. "Voodoo." Voodoo grinned then, pushing herself down into a play bow.
"Do you know how to wwrestle?" The pup asked dragging out the last word as her hips wiggled behind her. Voodoo's tail wagged back and forth in anticipation. After all if there were other pups than her siblings that meant plenty of those her age to wrestle with. The more the merrier she says.
Voodoo felt an explosion of happiness when Carnage returned the gesture. It took the newcomer a moment but Voodoo couldn't help but to giggle excitedly. The young girl was already thinking about getting into all sorts of michief, but she would always makes sure to stay close to where her mother could call her if need be. Carnage was the new girls name! Voodoo would make note of that, Carnage, the first wolf she ever made friends with outside of her den mates.
Voodoo let a tiny growl rip through her as Carnage told her she wanted to be fearless. "I want to grow up to be like my ma. She's beautiful." and powerful, but she didn't know how to quiet convey that yet. When Carnage asked if she was alone the pup stopped. Suddenly a bit wary, she looked back to her den. Her siblings were probably out exploring, as for her mother she was sure she was nearby but probably... Voodoo was all alone. "Yeah, my family's busy. But it's my first day out!" Her tail wiggled as she let out a bark. Maybe Carnage could teach her how to wrestle real good!
As it clear there interaction would be a positive one, Carnage would relax and start to enjoy the moment. So was this it? The girl's first ever... friend? She would wonder, though it was only early days. As Voodoo would speak proud of her mother she could only wonder who it was and having briefly seen most of the wolves at the first pack meeting it was only Deathbelle who seemed heavily pregnant. Carnage was still not familiar with all of her family times though she was aware of her mother's closeness to the lady. " I guess we all like to take steps to be like powerful women. Whose your momma? Mine's Recluse Klein" She would say with pride before awaiting the girl to reply. As she would continue to speak Carnage would discover their were other pups. interesting. She was bound to make it her mission to meet them all. As Voodoo would say it was her first day out Canrage would giggle playfully and attempt to pounce on the girl and hopefully bear hug her for just a moment. " Well we need to make it a day you won't forget!" and before she knew it Carnage would go ahead and bound towards a little stream where they could both play, Carnage would look over her shoulder to see if the girl was following her . Excitement bristled through the young pups pelt. The closeness she felt to Carnage was almost instant, though Voodoo was not sure if this was a good thing. They both seemed to be of royalty! When Carnage told Voodoo who her mother was her eyes lit up. A Klein! That meant Carnage was a relative, a part of her family as far as she knew. "Deathbelle Klein! She says my daddy's name is Magnus, though I haven't met him." She shrugged. Her father needed time as far as she was concerned. Every wolf needed to take time right!?
Voodoo was almost startled by the pups jump. Carnage tackled onto the gray pup as Voodoo felt herself jerk a bit the warmth of Carnage's pelt pressing against her. The soft bump of their bodies made Voodoo giggle, because Carnage was right this needed to be a day that stayed in Voodoo's memory for a long time. She jumped up, following just behind Carnage. She stopped a little behind her wagging her tail. "Are you gonna show me some cool places?!" she exclaimed in bewilderment.
It was clear they had already solidifed their friendship and as the girl announced her mother was Deathbelle The placid babe couldn't help but beam with happiness. They're related! Though she wasn't sure that the technical terms were, are they like... cousins? " Well we're family... and you know what they say about family?" She would pause, her crown tilting to the sound, " Family always stick togetherrrr!!" She would wink. Carnage was so excited to meet all of the other puppies and wondered if they were all like Voodoo. " I don't know my papa either, my mother hasn't said a word about him" She would shrug, she had come to the assumption men simply were not important. She had also totally forgotten about her other brother who was with him and had no idea of his existence. Before getting wrapped up in all of these thoughts Carnage would snap out of it as the girl before her would gleam with joy. " I'll show you all the cool places in time!" They could conquer the world together, though for now they would take it slow, afterall it is there first day, she wouldn't want Deathbelle thinking she was a bad influence." As they both went over to the little stream Carnage wouldn't hesitate to jump right on in, her fur clinging on her frame. Carnage would laugh and attempt to splash the pup, as if gesturing for the girl to join in. |
Carnage made joy flood through her pelt as Voodoo merrily followed behind the older pup. Though they were not too different in age with this being Voodoo's first outting she was cautious. Family! They of course had to stick together. As far as Voodoo knew it meant they shared blood - that sounded kind of gross but also kinda cool. Her mother shared her blood and in the end it's what made her so great! Carnage said she would show her all the cool places in time. Well Voodoo could wait for that, but then something interesting happened. Carnage jumped into the stream! Water clung to the young girls pelt and Voodoo's eyes widened almost seemingly mystified.
"You can walk in the water!?" she had never touched water before nor played in it. She always had drank from the puddles around the den or what her mother gave her. As Voodoo approached the edge of the stream almost startled by Carnage's splash. Feeling the coolness brush over her fur she dipped a paw in. Trying to get back at the other she suddenly grinned excitement with fear of a new thing rushing over her. Jumping on in she skidded on the water, trying to send a wave over to Carnage from her small bodyweight in the water.
